Turns out, we're all wizards. The problem is that none of us have any mana, and that's the real reason why we can't cast spells.
However, a null-space can be created in the mind that connects the world of mana to this world. With that, one can utilize mana.
The problem is that only a person who has access to mana can open a null-space in another one's mind.
I was fortunate to meet a very curious men, who had a complete disregard for societal norms and even his own safety. He reached the epiffemy of self-growth where he considered himself only as a pawn to his strategy. His actions weren't his own but the actions of the world in the area of his agency. This man had access to mana.
I followed him, and he tolerated my presence because I was no danger to his plans. He even interacted with me on occasion.
He taught me about his magical abilities. With study and practice, one can expand the null space and widen the access point to it.
At one point, he looked through my eyes and asked me if I could see anything.
I said I didn’t see anything.
At that moment, my brain felt as if it suddenly expanded. Below the area in front of my ears, I felt the physical expansion of my brain. I felt the new, magical functionality that I could make use of. It felt like it was a part of me. Like a doorway to my null-space. For the first time in my life, I felt mana.
Just as I decided that I too would set myself on a path to abolish all ego from within myself to become as enlightened as my sensei, I woke up from the dream.
When I sat on my bed I realized that I no longer had the functionality of spell-formation in my brain. I could no longer feel any mana. The access to my null-space was cut! Thanks for nothing, Luna...
But yes, magic is real, in dream-space.
