Thanksgiving Prep · 2:50am Nov 21st, 2023
One last trip to the grocery store, and I'm ready for a little friendsgiving get-together. Mom's out of state this year, so I'm hosting my best friend and a co-worker, and of course we will be doing a marathon of Make Your Mark Chapter 6 while we eat.
I've got a 16-lb bird this year, been in the fridge for two days so far. Not the biggest one I've done, but the price was very reasonable at just 60 cents a pound. If my experience of defrosting in the fridge holds, I'll be tossing this turkey in a sink of water very very early Thursday morning to finish the thaw.
For stuffing, I've always preferred doing that on the stovetop rather than inside the bird, so this year I'm doing a citrus herb recipe, so these fruits will be going into the cavity.
I will obviously be taking pics of the finished dinner as well.
Hoping everyone has a safe holiday, and you're able avoid those overly political relatives at the table.
Good luck on your end on Thanksgiving.
Same to you. 🦃
Today or tomorrow I need to make some of my from scratch pies for Thursday.
