Re-writes but still progress. · 1:44pm Oct 31st, 2023

So ya, I got several chapters in, and I think I wrote myself into a corner. In the end much of it had to be scrapped in favor of a slower paise that lets new characters and settings get a better introduction, along with a subplot conflict. What I got down so far feels a lot better, feeling far less rushed.

Some things getting more attention are:

-Platinum Hill itself. At the heart of the Grand Prairie (Pony Great Planes), it's surrounded by an ocean of noxious tasting, poisonous, and thorned grass, making the Grand Prairie nearly uninhabitable. The hill itself an oasis as the cross section of two roads connecting Nother, South, East, and Weast Equestria, were few monsters an no raiders can be found. Over the last few years, due to a great increes of traid, the trade outpost has exploded into a city, with more ponies coming through daly.

-The Desperados. Upon meeing back up with them at Platinum Hill, Harp is introdused to the Warband, a herd of Desperados made up of younger fighting aged ponies, unlike the herd Harp knows, which are made up of families. The warband's leader is young and arrogent, a far diffrent character from the anchent and wise ghoul, Elder Big Papa.

-The Steel Rangers taking over Platinum Hill, A conflict over a 100 years in development, the Rangers have been at Platinum Hill since the end of the war, seeing the Platinum Guard as older brothers in arm, then as more outsiders. Due to the founding of the Applejack Rangers, the rangers have become more desperat to hold onto what they have, and expanding their numbers. If it means turning the Platinum Guard into Rangers, then they will. Unfortuantly, the Desperados have just as much control of the teritory, and arnt friends with the Rangers.

-Lastly, The Coven of Clovers. the mediating force in the region, they are the decedents of several unicorn scholars and magical students that were at Platinum Hill when the bombs dropped, who then took shelter in Clover the Clever's Teahouse. Currently they are led by a powerful ghoul unicorn, whom has invested interest in keeping the Desperados and Steel Rangers from going to war.

So ya, I didn't have a good grasp on how to show all this, and how to properly introduce it all until I was 8 chapters in... thus things needed to just be scrapped. (And thats just the subplot.) Still, it's fun bringing back characters, though most of them are just the Desperados. I'm also using this story to show how much Equestria has started to change, with a lot more outsiders starting to visit and sell their wears.
