Major news; HAPPY BIRTHDAY FORZA HORIZON 4!!!! (+ story updates)

Well, the Standard release version of the game anyway. That's the one I got, way way back in 2018. I can still remember that day, coming home from a trip to a tech convention and immediately running to my local games store to pick up a copy of Horizon 4.

Five years goes by fast, doesn't it? And to think that The Horizon Adventures has been around for over four of those...

I'm so glad we're on the home stretch. In proportion to the overall story, that is.

It's been a personal tradition of mine to do a 50 lap Goliath race, which takes about eight to nine hours, every Oct 2nd since 2019. I missed out the one in 2022 due to Horizon 5, and I didn't particularly feel up for doing a TWELVE hour race on that, so did neither - but the one this year should be pretty damn good, I'm looking forward to it.

Now, story news; as for when this next chapter will be out... I know I've been dragging my feet since March, and for that, I apologize. The current chapter size is still around 10k words, and to be honest I'm wracking myself around this particular mid-section of the chapter. I won't spoil what it is, but I want it to be good enough that I can confidently wrap it up before moving onto the actual Goliath race itself, which is a whole other can of worms I need to sort out first.

In short; I haven't a clue. AT THE ABSOLUTE LATEST I want the chapter done by the end of this year, I'll get it out before 2024 if it fucking kills me.

I'm also slightly worried that another case of the dreaded burnout is seeping it's way in. I've seriously been stuck on this part for a couple months now, and though it is trudging on, I want to be done with it for good.

So, to remedy this, I'm gonna start hopping back and forth between those other stories I've got in the works. Maybe even go back and watch some of the Equestria Girls content, lord knows I haven't in, well, probably a couple years now. I feel like that's part of the problem, I'm slipping on what the characters actually feel like.

If this comes across in the writing, I'm super sorry. But it's not like they've been the most in-character in this fic anyways, right?

On top of that, I've got life stuff kicking into gear in November, YouTube videos to finish, plenty of other stuff to worry about... I don't want THA to fall by the wayside right at the end, you guys deserve to see this story through; as do I.

At the end of the day, this story isn't for you guys, it's for me, as selfish as it sounds to even type that out... But it's true. I just want to share it to the world and hopefully a few people out there can read all about the wacky antics of the Main 7 in Forza-land.

There's so much I honestly want to share, pour my heart out into a massive blog post... But we can wait until the story is wrapped up, I suppose.

It's 1:30am, I'm gonna try and shove some more writing in there before I pop off to bed for the night. Sorry again if this comes off a little bit rambly, but I haven't done a major status update on everything in a while. See you guys soon, I promise.

P.S. - I've started using the web version of FimFic on my laptop... There's so much stuff that doesn't appear on the mobile browser-app, which I've been using since first finding the site. I didn't even know you could check when someone was last online up until a month ago, so if it's any consolation; if I've been online recently, it's because I'm working on the chapter. I haven't actually read an MLP fanfic, barring short oneshots, at all this year. It's been exclusively Miraculous Ladybug stuff.
