Sit rep with my life at the moment; update.

Hey everyone, hope you're all doing well as we move into the middle of the Christmas season!

I, for one, couldn't really care less about Christmas but it feels weird that we're about to go into 2024.

Oh yeah, did yall see the GTA VI trailer? What's the betting that I still won't have The Horizon Adventures complete before then?!

I joke, but I do have some news and updates on how that's coming along;

For starters, my life has gotten a lot more work-centric, i.e. I've started a new job and that's the main focus right now. My YouTube channel hasn't had an upload in well over three months and even Forza has had to take a back seat.

I'm also travelling a lot, which has actually given a few moments where I've had the ability to sit down and ponder how the next sequences in the chapter are going to play out. Even wrote a few hundred words on a train journey last week...

The big issue is figuring out how the hell I'm going to wrap it all up before the year's end.

Luckily—and this is mainly why I'm writing this quick update—there's gonna be another period where I'm away on business for a week (next week) and I'll be chilling at the hotel in the evenings, because the city itself doesn't have anything significant worth exploring. Plus the fact that it gets dark at 3pm these days, I really can't be bothered to go outside in mid December if I don't need to.

So, the plan is to forego any sort of distractions, I'm probably taking a mini exercise bike and that's it. No Xbox controller to play Forza on xCloud, no fancy headphones for music, etc. Then, I can probably spend a few hours a day ticking over this final chapter and getting it closer to completion.

Because, yes, I'm still adamant on finishing it before 2024. So, the deadline is quite literally the 31st of December 2023 at 23:59:59.

I really, really do not want this story hitting it's fifth year without a completed tag.

I've more or less shelved any sort of YouTube projects such as my five-year Forza Horizon 4 anniversary appreciation video, that was meant to come out in early October due to this job and trying to keep a handle on the fic. There's another video I wanted out this month but it can realistically get pushed back to early January.

So, I'm gonna shut the hell up, and see about writing some stuff out now. It's hard to get the cogs flowing, but I love it when they do.

Since this will PROBABLY be my last update for this year, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who still gives a modicum of shit about my one and only story, it's saddening to count on my hands how many years have ticked by while this story floats in limbo. It's hard to prioritise it most of the time, as I feel like I'm stuck in a neverending loop of not wanting it to be finished, but destroying my mind trying to finish it as well.

A very personal part of the my Horizon 4 world will conclude when this story does, and that thought is honestly pretty upsetting. But... I can't keep holding back on it forever.
