Interactions Gritt Could Possibly Have With "Longtalons" Characters · 1:58am Sep 29th, 2023

First off, Gritt likely never encountered First Platoon, Third Squad during his upbringing in Fillydelphia. He spent 99% of it at the Fun Farm relatively sheltered from the goings-on of the city, or getting private training. He surely encountered the various Lieutenants and would at least recognize them if he saw them years later.
That being said, a character he'd likely frequently see would be Carmelita. He's a mercenary by trade, and his primary weapon is a precision rifle chambered in .408. That's not exactly a round that grows on trees, so the Gun Runners would be among the few manufacturing it, making Gritt a regular customer. I think they'd get along. Her sense of humor is right up his alley.
As a mercenary, Gritt travels far and wide. If he met anyone else, it would be while he's stopping at a town they happen to be in. Due to briefly spotting Third Squad at the Battle of Fillydelphia after watching Red Eye's cyber dragon die, he might recognize them. He has a pretty vivid memory of that day.
An emotional chord would be struck if he met and recognized Leigh. He didn't know who they were, but he saw Isaac get vaporized, and he saw Leigh grieve. Gritt would remember not being fast enough to take out the Enclave soldier who spotted them, and he'd feel guilty. Isaac's was a life Gritt felt responsible for failing to save, despite not knowing him.
I'm sure Gritt wouldn't be alone in having a lot of regret and general trauma from the battle of Fillydelphia, and anyone who survived did so by more luck than anything. At least the generations that followed wouldn't ever have to experience anything like it.
It's always a fun thought experiment to cross over characters and situations like this, and I admit I've done it plenty of times too.

Gritt is pretty well adjusted, all things considered, but he never stopped being what he was trained to be. He just aims his skills at better causes. Works for the "right" people. He's thankful he has the skill to be choosy about his jobs. He knows most are stuck getting what work they can find out of desperation.
