TheJediMasterEd

The Force is the Force, of course, of course, and no one can horse with the Force of course--that is of course unless the horse is the Jedi Master, Ed ("Stay away from the Dark Side, Willlburrrr...")!

    Bot accounts not being deleted

I realize mods have real lives so sometimes they can't check a horsewords site every day, but bot posts have been proliferating and they don't seem to have been taken down starting about three days ago.

I keep trying to find the right forum fir this and I'm always getting told it's the wrong one, so I'll post this here and maybe someone who sees it will ping the mods.

Don't it look kinda chewed-on, like?

"It's for the kidneys!" It's a tactical precaution!"
Once again Ed, you are right on the mark with a literary comparison I stumbled into by total accident somehow. I wanna say at some point during the absolute madness of rushing to finish on time, I thought the dynamics were more sad and less silly, it would be akin to No Exit but no, Godot is pretty much it. (Though it might still liken to my favorite part of Exit when it turns out the door to hell is unlocked and they could have left the room at any point at any time.)

There's a scene is C. S. Lewis's The Last Battle in which a bunch of Dwarves who have been saved from the final deluge are huddled together in a peaceful sunlit meadow because they believe they're still in a lightness cavern, hiding from said deluge. It all gets back to Plato's allegory of the cave, I guess.

I first read The Last Battle in high school and reread it a few years ago: it held up remarkably well, not least because I could see in it metaphors about art and creation that I couldn't before. Makes a good companion piece to Tolkien's "Leaf by Niggle."

Sadly, Chrysalis is fresh out of Luckys. ("Hunt, pig!")

Chrysalis's Lucky is the Hive, which rings an interesting change on Beckett.

Chrysalis has lost the Hive and she knows that intellectually. But she can't acknowledge it emotionally because it would destroy her pride, her amour proper, her sense of self. She can't do that.

Not least, I guess, because she knows on some level that if she were to allow it to happen, she'd be converted like the rest of the Changelings. And only through a broken heart/ Can Lord Christ Friendship enter in.
