If you were looking at the shirts I sell...

... they're about to go away. My shirt printer is retiring, and I have no replacement.

After May 5 I'm going to take down the online order links on my little business's online store, and after this summer I'll clear out of whatever shirts I have left.

So if you'd noticed any of these before, now's effectively the last chance.

Not back to KSP yet, but I did do some space stuff.

I haven't touched KSP since my early experience with KSP2 was a combination of glitchy game and impossible-to-read UI. I've been thinking about it here and there, but I've had other things to do.

But that doesn't mean I'm not doing space stuff, and yesterday I finally edited and posted a video of such.

    My muse is nagging me.

I've done very little writing the past five months, partly due to being busy, but mostly due to recurring headaches when it's writing time.

I have a couple weeks off, and I'm going to try to make time to get back on my projects (the Octavia story and novelizing Peter is the Wolf). But my mind... well... it's trying to jump ahead, or possibly back.

    Life imitates art...

So, a privately built and operated space probe became the first US lander to soft-land on the Moon last week- Odysseus.

Fort Libris update, and KSP advice... · 5:46am Sep 16th, 2023

First: about 2/3 of the Fort Libris pledges have shipped. The rest will likely go out next week.

Second: if you like the original KSP but don't currently have it installed, I strongly suggest you do so now.

And if you want to buy it but haven't yet, do it SOON and do it on GOG or someplace with no DRM- NOT on Steam.

Long story short, the company that makes the Unity game engine- which KSP is built on- announced it's changing their TOS to charge for every single download and make various other demands... and some of those charges are RETROACTIVE.

Which means, though I've heard no announcements, KSP may not be available much longer, because I just don't see SQUAD or Take 2 Interactive being willing to pay the Danegeld on a twelve-year-old game, and even less willing to adapt it to a new engine. (Or, considering how shit KSP2 still is, not even ABLE to adapt it.)

Well that sucks. There are an awful lot of games made with Unity that are probably going to just go poof now.

Assuming the backlash doesn't make them back off, like it has with quite a few companies recently.

Which apparently they're doubling down on, so probably not

Apparently they're being sued by multiple corporate supergiants over this (Microsoft, Nintendo, Disney). If they truly refuse to change course, I can see them no longer existing as company by the time this would have gone into effect and thus not needing to be paid off. :derpytongue2:

You got to love how fast the corpos move to protect their bottom line

Indeed, you don't miss with the big three. they do pull a lot of muscle
but it is good thing that Godot are getting attention
