Some things regarding subjects in CtH

There are a few key points I'd like to make about the latest chapter, and the story as a whole. 1st, Change the Heart was started and fully outlined back in 2012, long before we ever got to see where the changelings were located in the show. At the point where I'd officially started to work on the story as more than just a handful of chapters about a silly pegasus OC, Season 3 had nearly wrapped up and the news of Princess Twilight Sparkle had only just begun circulating with many folks up in arms about her becoming an alicorn. While the comics may have given an idea of, if not the exact location of the changeling hive, the show would not do so until season 6, at which time the majority of planning for this story and those to come had already been set in stone.
2nd, with the past two chapters, I've been trying to set up the idea that there is living magic in this version of the world. Magic that is not controlled, cast or created by anyone or anything, but instead has a form of sentience and sapience all its own. This idea of living magic will continue to be explored through future works that have been planned, but CtH needs to at least have the idea of that put in place before anyone can see what else has been planned around this.
It should come as no surprise that the story has been straddling the line between canon-adjacent and AU, and as the world is further explored and built upon in later works, things will become clear which side of that line everything falls on. As such, I do hope that people that are fans of canon-adjacent and those that prefer AU will continue to give the story a look as things get explored some more, and that the drastic differences in certain locations do not put readers off too much. After all, had everything in my life gone as planned, this story would have been wrapped up around the end of 2014 when the world of Friendship is Magic was still relatively unexplored by the show's canon.
Finally, the name of Chrysalis's homeland in the story. Breyta Mitos. I'll be honest, this name was picked out before I ever published the first chapter of the story and was originally Breyta Mudra, two words chosen as I through various forms of metamorphosis, insects (especially dragonflies), chitin, and other things that related to the insect-like changelings into Google Translate, with Breyta Mitos as an alternative. I had handwritten notes on a printout of the original outline for the story that said what each word meant and what language they were each from, but those notes have long since been lost to the aether. I eventually settled on Mitos instead of Mudra, because I felt it sounded better, and if I ever change the name from this point on, it would be to keep in line with the naming convention from the show and become Brayta Mitos instead (as I cannot figure out how to FiM-ify Mitos) with bray relating to one of the sounds horses make.
As for when the next chapters will come out, I'm starting work on chapter 15 as I type this out, though I cannot in good conscious give even a general date for it, as this chapter wasn't even meant to be as long as it was, especially with the revised outline I've been using since chapter 10 having cut down on exploring all seven ponies' dreams to just the ones shown in the chapter. I was not expecting it to end up at about 19 pages where I'd been working on it. Maybe 10 at best, but not 19. The outline for chapter 15 has a similar page length to the outline for 14, both being at about 3 pages long, but 15 has little to no dialogue written into it (by which I mean I will sometimes write out lines of dialogue in the outline either as reference to expand on or to remind myself what exactly I had in mind when I was working on it because I'll forget by the time I get to the chapter; for example, Luna's talk about the changeling attack was not written out in whole, but the line "as of now, Equestria is at war" was written out) and is mostly descriptive whereas 14 had descriptions and plenty of dialogue written already into it. This means that chapter 15 could very well end up even longer than chapter 14 was, so I don't want to go ahead and say "Oh, it'll be done in two months" only to have to learn as I work on it that two months suddenly became six. I will, however go on record and say that the wait will be far less than six years this time around.

I did not think that I still wouldn't have it finished when I uploaded the first chapter 11 years ago. Slowly, but surely, the story will be finished. The fact that people still came by and read the old chapters as recently as this year means so much to me in regards to the interest my writing can make people have.
