Some rambles now that the chapter is out

So you might have noticed that the chapter came out sooner than advertised. Today was incredibly rough and frustrating for me and I needed something to call a win, so I decided to release it early. You also might have noticed some changes to the tags for the story. I'm still learning what tags may or may not apply to the story, but right now I don't think Mystery fits the story anymore, especially after looking at what the site defines as Mystery, I don't know what else might need to be changed for the story as the final chapters start to come out, heck, the rating might need to be changed when it's all over. What's funny is, there are some other works I have planned and I know what I'm going to mark them as, but CtH is... It's an anomaly to me.
To be fully open and potentially spoil y'all, Change the Heart was planned in the first draft to be a stand-alone story and I grew to love the silly blue pegasus you see smiling wide on the page so much that I changed my mind roughly 9 or so years ago to provide more content into the world I'm building here. To the point where the series (yes, there's going to be much more to CtH than just this one story) will be easily marked as AU. However, CtH isn't one that really fits that mold. Yes, what you've read so far is outside of the show's canon, but the story starts and ends inside of the canon, to where it could take place anywhere between the start and end of season 3 and things would still work.
I am not at all sure what the story is meant to get classified as, and I don't think I'll know until the final chapter is published and I've had the time to read it all along with you. Hopefully when it's complete I can have someone tell me what the overall genres that fit it are other than adventure. Tragedy and Dark are ones for later on in the series for sure.
Also holy hell, the story is 3/4 done and it's at over 100k words. This is my FIRST proper foray into fanfiction. I was expecting this to maybe reach 40-50k when I started it, maybe be about 100 pages long maximum? This thing has already far exceeded novel status and it's not even done yet. Y'all still have at least 5 chapters left.
Right now, this is what I was expecting for the length of the FINAL part of the series, a thing that I've sectioned off into multiple books in just one story with how long I plan it to be.
Holy cow, if you're just finding the story now and decide to read it despite the length, you're now one of my favorite people. For those of you that have been around from the start and are now trapped thanks to the sunk-cost fallacy, I'm so sorry, I didn't intend to keep you locked up here for this long with just one book. Thanks for sticking around.
