Minor updates to the story · 4:18pm February 22nd
I've been sitting on this decision for a while, as when I first started writing Change the Heart, I didn't want to give everything away from the start, but as time has gone on and I've learned more about what the author owes to the audience, I've decided to update the warnings for the story at long last.
I'm still learning what needs to be in the story to fully count towards requiring the warning, but there's also no point in keeping a lot of this close to the chest anymore.
Death: There will be character death in the story. Who and how many will die is something I am keeping to myself to avoid too many spoilers for the story and the series as a whole.
Profanity: I'm steadily backing away from the show's acceptable ones such as "What the hay!" and the like. While I don't know for certain how much real world swears will make their way into the story, I do have some chapter drafts with more profane words than how the story started, and the later works will 100% blend real world and fictional profanity.
Violence: We've already had several instances of fights in the story already and we're finally getting to the changeling's homeland to stop a war with a few hours remaining before the deadline for the army deploying. With the plan for the story already, words are not going to get us out of this mess and a fight is inevitable. Though just given what I know will happen in the rest of the series, this may be the only part that runs a very thin line with the bare minimum part of the rule for this warning.
I've been getting in the habit of letting general things about the story thanks to using AO3 to also archive the story, and now that I'm no longer a full novice with writing I'm more comfortable with not keeping things a full secret and planning to do any warnings after it's all done. Change the Heart is still my way of learning what is and isn't allowed for each area and I believe that once it's complete I'll be able to finally see how the stories should be classified and tagged so I can make sure all the future stories are done properly from the start.
