Radiation therapy · 7:11pm Jul 22nd, 2023
Alright got the report back. My brain tumor has been removed, and it cannot spread from its spot, so I technically do NOT have cancer. However, it WILL regrow again unless I am given radiation therapy every weekday for up to six weeks in a row, followed by some chemo therapy pills, and then periodic scanning to make SURE it's not growing again lest we apply more therapy to it. This will continue the rest of my life basically. However the doctor said my prognosis is very, VERY good and I shouldn't be afraid of anything yet, just that the therapy might kick my ass a little bit. I'm going to lose the hair in a patch on the left side of my head for a bit, I dunno how MUCH hair that's going to be but we'll see. Preparation for therapy is taking place next week, and then the week after that it starts in earnest, with the transportation company giving me a ride into city and then back home afterward each day so me or my mom doesn't have to drive there and can save a lot of money on the amount of gas we'd need to use since we live like an HOUR away from the treatment center.
Well shit, I'm glad you're okay but dude.
Where was the tumor specifically?

In general, left side of my brain. I don't have the EXACT location, but whatever location it WAS caused me to experience migraine and headache after migraine and headache, including messing with my vision in MULTIPLE ways, compromising my ability to read or speak, and causing me to repeatedly forget a whole bunch of words that made talking difficult.
