Dealing with the Canterlot additions

With the Canterlot arc coming up just after Sapphire and Rose are introduced to the harem I’ll need to decide on who should be added to the list to begin with. Here though there’s a problem, simply that there is a lot of characters that will be added. I definitely shouldn’t have included Cloudsdale in hindsight (for the sake of simplicity when I refer to Canterlot in this blog it also includes Cloudsdale). So far I have two solutions to avoid the vote box getting overwhelmed.

One is to introduce new Canterlot characters in waves. With new options unlocked as Spike gets more control over Canterlot, and the Council of Equestria. I’m not sure on the precise details however. For now though here’s the ones I know for certain (but not necessarily all of them) will be part of the first group:
Princess Celestia
Fleur de Lis
Sassy Saddles
Twilight Velvet

The second option is to do something similar to how the background votes work. With the focus shifting from Ponyville to Canterlot the Ponyville options will be removed, but there will be a vote every once in a while with only Ponyville options.

So the schedule will go either Canterlot, Canterlot, Ponyville, Background. Or something like Canterlot, Ponyville, Canterlot, Background. (Background votes will include options from both Canterlot and Ponyville)
