Ponyville was experiencing one of the most important days in the kingdom's history, Independence Day. For the occasion, The girls were dressed in colonial-era clothes, simple brown dresses while Twilight, Celestia, and Luna spent a quarter of the kingdom's budget on military outfits.

The same treatment was applied to the streets of the city with blue, white, and red stripes everywhere. Mayor Mare was standing on many boxes with tea written on them while wearing a ceremonial dress and a white wig, ''My dear friends! Today is a day of our freedom, and so, we must honor the memories of those who fought for this very symbolic liberty. The day of us being held down is no more!
