From the Notebook DC Crossover Idea: Doctor Fate

Here’s another idea I wanted to get down after a very busy day. It’s another DC Comics crossover that I don’t think I’ll ever try to work out.

This one is about Doctor Fate. The sorcerer supreme of DC. The Lord of Order. The guy with the fancy gold helmet.

    Help Finding a Story

I know it’s weird to post something like this in a blog, but I tried a group forum and got no answer, so I figured why not try here?

Hi, everybody! I know it’s been a long time. It’s the usual mess. But I wanted to say that Aces High chapter 5 will be out tomorrow, somewhere either around noon-ish, or between noon and one, Eastern time.

The Great Tabloid Disater: Deleted Scene (From Chapter 2)

This was originally going to be in chapter 2, and I’d written it to completion, but my proofreader, the ever-talented Setokaiva, told me it was unnecessary when combined with the other scenes, and I saw his point. So, I took it out and edited bits and pieces of it into the remaining scenes.

Talking A Tale of Two Suns, A Potential New ATOTS Side Story, and General Life · 9:45pm Jun 13th, 2023

So...A Tale of Two Suns.

I see that a number of people want me to continue the series, and have been waiting for years, and for those that have waited, I apologize. I felt the desire to continue had left me, and I’d pulled away from writing in general for a long time, for that, and other reasons. But now I’m back to writing fanfic, for MLPFIM and other fandoms, so the question of continuing it is on my mind, especially since there is interest in its continuation.

I won’t promise that anything new for the main series will come out soon for five very good reasons.

1. I have several writing projects going on which I want to continue.

2. I’d still like to create videos on YouTube occasionally (though this may be secondary to writing)

3. I have recently found the writing software Scrivener, which seems to fit me rather well, and if I were to continue ATOTS, I would like to do so on Scrivener. This would require me to transfer the story text, plus all of the notes and research, from the file for my old writing software, into Scrivener before I even start adding any new chapters.

4. I would have to figure out where I was planning-wise for ATOTS.

5. If you hadn’t seen my last blog post...my mother is dying. She’s in hospice right this second, off her dialysis, and she will not last much longer. My relationship with her is complicated, but her sudden decline has brought with it a wave of grief, and there will be a lot more grief in the next few days, as well as the usual legalities and necessities.

I will however say that I’m thinking about continuing ATOTS, if I can find the time to balance it between everything else. But that’s always seemed to be my challenge, and one that I want, and need, to rise to. That’s all I can say.

In other news, among my many projects that could come to fruition is a new ATOTS side story, a sequel to Swimming Lessons. I know I mentioned it a long, long while back, but the draft is still in my files, and as a way to help keep myself busy and distracted among the grief and emotional turmoil of recent days, I’ve been copying that text into Scrivener, after which I can pick at it more.

As a teaser, this story will be called The Great Tabloid Disaster.

Genre: Comedy/Slice of Life

Working summary (subject to adjustment): Canterlot. The capital city of the great nation of Equestria. It had seen many a disaster. But many years ago, it faced one unlike any other, one that would threaten to topple the crown itself.

This is the story of The Great Tabloid Disaster.

Okay, maybe not the best summary, but it’s improvised. What do you want?

Yeah I've been meaning to ask since you've started writing again, but asking on the last post seemed... inappropriate... to say the least.

I am glad to hear you've kept it in mind, and are returning to eventually. I'm interested in what comes next for our two Sunbutts.

Speaking as someone who knows what's up with The Great Tabloid Disaster, I can't wait for everyone to see it. It's right up there with Chrysalis' First Sleepover, for me.

About your mom, though... I am really, really sorry. I wish you patience and steady nerves in the days to come, since you have to deal with legal issues on top of everything else. I hope your family comes together to support each other through this. Thank you for trusting us with your feelings.

You're a great writer, and I always hope to read more from you, no matter how long it's been since your last update.

Thank you, and I have to say, you referring collectively to Celestia and Sunset as “Sunbutts” makes me laugh.

Hiya! Scrivener's great; I keep meaning to port my planning and stuff over too. Good luck! personally, i'm here for any and all writes of yours. Wishing you some light in your life. 🤍
