My Apologies, and Some Clarification About My Works · 1:51am Jun 11th, 2023
Hello everyone.
I wanted to create this blog post to make an apology, and to clarify something about my work. One of my more recent stories, "Cadance, That's Not Love," attracted a lot more attention than I was expecting. A great deal of you enjoyed the story and sang its praises, and for that, you have my thanks. I am extremely grateful for your kind words, and I am happy to know that my stories have brought you some enjoyment. However, this story has also been the most divisive that I've written thus far for a number of reasons, most notably my portrayal of Cadance herself. Many of you have expressed disdain at the story and how I handle the topic of both Cadance and her love magic. I would just like to make something clear: I never intended to make it seem like I was attacking anyone or anything, be it the character, the writers behind the show, or the works of others, nor was I attempting to undermine the thoughts or feelings of any Cadance fans. Quite the opposite, actually. I simply wanted to write a cute Reader/Anon x Cadance story because I like Cadance. The discussion surrounding her love magic was not meant to be commentary on how she is portrayed or how relationships should be or anything like that, it was simply meant to be setup for the plot twist that she had cast such a spell on the Reader/Anon. I did not expect so much discussion to occur surrounding it, nor the wide variety of responses to it. When I wrote it, I only saw it as a cute little interaction that led into the equally cute reconciliation near the story's climax. So, I will restate: If my story upset you in any way, or it seemed as if I was attacking you or something you care about, I wholeheartedly apologize, and I will try to do better in the future. All I want to do is partake in this hobby and community that I love so much, and having the privilege of getting to share my writings with all of you has been an incredible experience. If my work begins bringing others distress rather than joy, I would prefer to quit doing it entirely instead of further upsetting others.
For now, though, I plan to continue writing as I have, while also doing my best to stay mindful of what I am saying and doing in said stories. To those of you who enjoyed my work AND to those of you who didn't, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your feedback. Without it, I wouldn't know what I was doing wrong (or right)!

Runic, that was a heartfelt and sincere explanation and apology. I, personally, did not take it as critical of Cadence and her Love Magic. Rather, she learns something about herself from it. Said that, I can see how some might've misunderstood was a portrayal – not an indictment – of a character's flaw. Keep up the good work!

Just how ethical is Cadence's handling of her power. What are the lines between assistance and programming?
It's getting to the point that if you say, "good morning" somebody is going to reply, "What do you mean by that?" I personally look forward to your stories. Keep up the good work!
