‘The Fall of Opaline’ Releases TODAY!!!!

Well…kinda.

Before y’all start rolling out the excitement train now that the agonizing hiatus for the Misty Saga is finally over, allow me to explain what I mean by kinda. The story is looking to be 13 chapters (Prologue + 3 interludes + 8 chapters + Epilogue). And I don’t feel quite comfortable dumping all those chapters on you guys at once. I don’t like Netflix’s strategy of just dumping all Make Your Mark episodes in one day for binge-watching as I far prefer the weekly release method that FIM received. So, I ain’t gonna do that either.

What I am going to do is release the story in bundles of three. Basically, what that means is that I’m going to be releasing three chapters a day with the exception of Sunday in which the rest of the chapters will just be released in one. There are actually two reasons for this. The first reason is that there is that I want the story to be circulating around the FIMFiction algorithm for much longer than a day, let’s be honest. I like when my stories get featured (don’t we all?) and I don’t want someone else to just take my glory that easily. Updating the story daily keeps it relevant and featured on the homepage.

The second and final reason is: Maximum engagement. I feel that if I just dump the full story just like that, certain chapters won’t get the attention they need from readers as they’ll feel this need to binge through the whole thing. Trust me, I know what that’s like. I’ve done it myself. Three chapters a day also just seems appropriate. Now I was going to do one chapter a day, buuuuuuuuut…we all know what’s coming on June 6th and I’m trying to get Redeemed out before the Hasbro gods steal my limelight by showing the final confrontation with Opaline before I do. So it really is a catch-up thing. The last thing I want is for the Saga’s penultimate entry premise to become a “seen that already, Imma skip” sort of thing after Make Your Mark shows it.

Because of this, I’ll just be releasing the rest of the chapters Sunday night. And on Monday, it’s speedrun time! The story for Redeemed is already locked in concept wise, so I’m going to try and get it out by Tuesday afternoon. Wish me luck!

Anyways…with that being said, it’s time to celebrate the end of TWO hiatuses!! Both Make Your Mark and The Misty Saga have come out of retirement and it’s time to party!! Let’s gooooooooooo!! I’ll see you all in just a few minutes. Byyyyyyyyyyeeee!!

That's quite a fast pace, actually.
I wouldn't expect more than one chapter each day.

Now I was going to do one chapter a day, buuuuuuuuut…we all know what’s coming on June 6th and I’m trying to get Redeemed out before the Hasbro gods steal my limelight by showing the final confrontation with Opaline before I do.

Ah, that explains it.
