I Got Writer’s Block + Taking A Tiny Break To Get Ideas · 5:51am February 25th
You know that feeling when you know exactly what scene you want to play out, but aren’t sure how to execute it? Well, that’s me. You’re probably wondering how I got into this situation and you’d be right to ask that. It’s about Haven, which is doing decent so far in terms of reader engagement so far. Not a breakout hit by any means, but just the fact that I’m getting fans of the original story engaged is enough satisfaction for me in terms of my first G4 story in years. And I really want to stick the landing in terms of the last three chapters as they deserve a great conclusion. Buuuuuuuut…I’m kinda stuck on how to properly write Moon Dancer’s chapter. This is where everything culminates and is revealed. All the build up comes to a dramatic payoff. I know what I want her to say, I know the plot beats I want in there. I’m just stuck on how to execute it. So that’s why I sort of stopped updating it daily again. I’m taking a little break to gather ideas as to how I can make this chapter shine.
Give it like…I don’t know, a couple days hiatus or something while I sort the creative stuff out. Nothing like my last major dip. In the meantime, I got the channel to fall back on, which has been a tremendous success so far. I’m working on two analysis videos (one of them being the first Make Your Mark defense video) and hopefully once those are out, I’ll have a fresh load of ideas. In the meantime…um…maybe I’ll write some G5 stories to tie y’all over? Depends on what my brain comes up with. I haven’t been in this awkward of a spot when it comes to a story in a long time. But those of you who have supported the story so far deserve the best emotional payoff I can give you, and I’ll only return to it once I have everything figured out. Going forward, I’ll probably make sure that the whole story is written first before publishing chapters one by one to save myself the hassle of figuring out hiatuses. Thanks for your understanding.

My advice for getting writer's block is to go and write something completely off the wall. That's how my Young 6 miniseries got its start.
