The Filly Catalogue - The End is Neigh? · 5:40pm May 25th, 2023
I've been thinking a lot recently on how I want to continue The Filly Catalogue. Do I wanna keep it open and just add a new random foal every few months/years, or do I want to bring it to an end? I was planning on doing a full rewrite of the story, using only the main plot points and characters in the story, but another part of me is thinking of just ending it as is, write a few chapters and then say goodbye to it and just write new stories when I get an idea in my head.
Well, A full rewrite would probably never come, not with how much my brain goes off on other projects, so I've gone ahead and decided to end this one forever. I'm sorry.
But don't be too disappointed. I have already written 5 of 8(?) Chapters for the end scenarios. I won't spoil much, but this will be an ending to this story. I might be adding one or two promised chapters that I've been neglecting, before I release "The Ending Arc", but once I do, I'll be considering this story closed. And then moving on to other stories I've been wanting to write without this in the back of my mind.
Fear not tho, cause I'll still be writing in the same genre if that's what you're looking for. ;)
I'll be releasing these chapters one at a time after I've finished the final chapter in draft. Probably one week between each release. This'll give me time to clean up and edit them, I hope. Thank you to everyone who's been enjoying this daft story over the last three years. I hope you all are doing well, looking after yourselves, and continue to keep being awesome <3
Now, the big question: How many of you want a Happy Ending, and how many want a Sad Ending?

First of all, the story went well in the beginning, because it's a "Catalog of FILLIES!"!!! But then, someone decided to step in and put a "fly in the ointment".
I treat this story with understanding, and analyze it in my own way. You could continue this story (ignoring the grumblers), but stick to the "Fillies"! (Yes, it's an exclamation mark).
Personally from me, YOU can count on support and inspiration. Your idea is unique, and in its own way it is a Diamond in the pile of stories that are contained on this site.

I am hoping for a bitter sweet ending if you can
I think a more sad ending would be the funnest, especially with seeing how things turn out with filly Luna. Although I am hoping to see Rumble one more time, to see him broke in for his brother.
I'll put my ten cents in and say I'd like a Happy Ending.
I’m a sucker for a happy ending, but I’m good with either one. Sad endings have their place too!
This was a great idea, honestly. Good concept, great execution, full spreads detailing pickup by the company and revised testimonials from satisfied customers; it's all very well done.
I do, of course, recognize that my contribution to it was controversial. As 5730306 pointed out, a fair few readers were upset that a colt was added into the mix, but at the same time, 5730309 has pointed out their appreciation for that segment. My intent was to draw in a secondary audience and reignite an unfinished story that had been gathering dust on my bookshelf.
Now, before I state my preference for the ending, I do have one more note I want to add: Even if you do mark this story as finished; if you write out an ending, or even two endings, depending on how you actually want to play it, know that you can always come back and add bonus chapters. That is the beauty of anthologies. Or, if you don't manage to come around to that until you have several ideas, a sequel, perhaps? That's the plan with my own anthology, Fluttershy's Nature Show. Whether you choose to do either of those, or perhaps neither, know that there is an audience for your work.
Now then, to answer your question. As stated, you can write both endings and publish them if you're unsure which you like better, and no matter which way you opt to end it, I will offer my support, for whatever that is worth. That said, if I were to pick an ending, I have always been a fan of tragedy.

I appreciate everyone's feedback <3 I will say though, once this story is finished. I plan on being finished, as I said, if I get more idea's for stories about abduction and molestation, It'll be a whole new story. In fact I have one in mind for Dinky and Featherweight that wouldn't fit in this world ;) But that's for the future, right now, I wish to work on getting this finished in a state that makes me happy.

I've said from the beginning of it all that I planned on adding any foal to the story, some I even forgot about and will be adding soon, and that the title of "The Filly Catalogue" was an oversight. Since it started with 4 fillies I just rolled with that without thinking towards the future. You say we had a guest writer put a "fly in the ointment", but we had a colt long before Kiernan added his chapter with Rumble. If your not a fan of colts, that is fine and I respect that, but I added Pipsqueak years before and he is a part of the plot because of Luna, and that can't be changed, nor would I want to.
I like to write all kinds of stuff. I'm just disappointed I never did any proper mare of colt stuff. It's not too late, but I feel I'd only be writing it to fill a gap that I missed and it would only be there, to be there.
Well, it would be nice to have some of these scenario were we can choose both endings by just choosing the both option. It kinda suck to know that two endings were planned but you only manage to read one.
If anything I would vote for the bad ending just to see how everything goes.
