Not very often do you see someone express interest in taking a story off an eight-year hiatus.
But I think it's going to go in a different direction than I originally intended. Oh sure, there'll be upsetting themes and all that jazz, but...
It's going to come from a more sincere place.
Back in the day, I think I was just so desperate to make the next ultimate grimdark story. I wanted to be the author of the next Cupcakes or Rainbow Factory. And in the end, my writing suffered for it. I wasn't writing for myself.
So, I won't try to push themes onto this story that ultimately won't work for it. (Especially since the original plot would've broken a lot of the time-travel rules and overcomplicated the mechanics of the plot)
The story will be shorter, but better for it.
And... no more proofreaders. I think I got it from here. I appreciate the help I got in the past, but asking for help stresses me out like no other. I have improved grammatically over the years, and Grammarly+ helps catch whatever I've missed lol.
When I'm done with A Chaotic Calm, I'll look at Cutie Mark next. That one also showed promise; the trouble is I have absolutely no memory of what kind of story I was trying to tell there. So I'll have to take time to think of a well-rounded timeline for that plot.
Yoooo. You can not imagine my suprise when I saw an update. From you yes, but really from any fic I still follow here! I remember being OBSESSED with A Chaotic Calm as a kid. I'm absolutely going to have to reread it!
Glad to see you're back! And glad to see you've got a new, intresting direction planned for your stuff. Not that it was bad before obviously, but I'm glad to see that you seem happier with this new path.
