It's rare that we get advance notice we're going to lose someone.
I think that hurts worse than finding out afterward.
Level Dasher is another of those people around this site who I never really knew, but nevertheless was a name I've always been used to seeing. He's been around here about as long as I have. Just a fixture, a normal guy.
I am fucking crying.
I haven't been around long, but he is beloved....
I'm blessed to have become very good friends with him since 2020, but I feel all the more grief now because of it. Currently at the, 'ibuprofen helps my face not hurt from too much crying' phase.
It doesn't help that I've not encountered grief on this level before. I've lost pets and I've lost estranged relatives, but never yet a close friend I'd call a sibling in a heartbeat.
