Mario Bros Movie & a sleeping friend · 2:07am Apr 13th, 2023
I went to see the Super Mario Movie with a friend yesterday, and I thought it was very good if not great. So many characters stood out and had their moments, but Mario and Peach in particular shined to me. This version of Peach was a badass, at a level I would expect from Princess Daisy, which I can dig! Mario's big brother side to Luigi reminded me of my older brother some, who would not let anyone mess with me when we were kids. It made me like this version of Mario even more, and the little brother in me sure related to Luigi.
But nothing could have prepared me for one thing that happened during the movie. It actually had nothing to do with the movie itself. Remember how I said I went to see the movie with a friend? That guy, believe it or not, fell asleep at some point late in the movie so he missed the final Bowser battle! He said that it wasn't that the movie was boring him, but I guess he got a little too comfortable in his seat and he said he was a little tired to begin with.
But whatever the reason, I told him that I wasn't going to let that sleepyboy live that down anytime soon.
I saw the movie a few days ago too! My favourite part were the very lifelike environments.
What does your friend do for work?
(I'm a fogie, there's enough classics to make the new stuff seem boring.)

He works at a food booth in the downtown part of my city.
So the type that says "Back in my day, blah blah blah?" Jk, but I get what you mean.

I thought the movie handled that well. It looked real but still something that would belong in a Mario universe so it didn't look too real IMO.

"BEH! Back in my day, ya didn't need that newfangled CGI!! Good storytelling was 90 percent of the end result!!!"
