The Craziest Thing Happened to Me...

A short while ago, a user reached out to me on FimFiction to tell me they were making a video adaptation (in Spanish) of my story 'I Have No Wings and I must Fly' for their grimdark fanfic channel. (That was my first MLP fanfic. I wrote it when I was only 1.5 seasons into the show. In fact, I started watching the show in order to do research for the story.) Anyway, I told them that that sounded

    My New Book is Out!

Exciting news for me. The book I've been writing since the end of 2016 is live and available for free download RIGHT NOW. It's my first full length novel, clocking in at 92k words. It’s a significant personal accomplishment because I've never been able to weave a story over 60k without it stagnating or becoming riddled with filler. I've been trying

    Summer Sin Celebration

    I'll be participating in the Summer Sin Celebration writing exchange this year. Not because I'm some clop fiend but because I'm enamored with the idea of being part of a group writing project where you put your own spin on someone else's prompt. I don't write clop without plot;

    My New Book is Finished

Exciting news for me. I finally finished the book I've been writing since the end of 2016. (I did take a 1.5 year hiatus in the middle.) It's my first full length novel, clocking in at 92k words. It feels like a significant personal accomplishment because I've never been able to weave a story over 40k without it stagnating or becoming riddled with filler. I've been trying to write a 'real book'

    Current and Future Projects

I’m focusing on finishing a new book that I’ve been writing slowly for over five years. It’s horror. I’m currently at 81k words. There are only two to three chapters left to write. I’ll self publish it digitally on Amazon. It’ll be free on its debut. I’ll tell you about it when it’s out. But what this is really about is the fanfiction ideas that have backed up in my head in the meantime. I just

I just thought it might be fun to give a tentative outline of what happens next.

Title: ???
Genre: Comedy, Slice of Life
Rating: T
Current chance of ever happening: 100%

I’ve already started this one. It’s about 60% written and it’s officially my next project after my book. Twilight sets up an enchanted bulletin board in front of her castle before leaving on a trip. The board is supposed to be updated remotely by Celestia with current news and events. Twilight comes back to find the board has been hijacked by Discord as a prank to spread slander and fake stories. The unintended result is that the Main 6 and much of Ponyville are now stubbornly mired in disinformation and conspiracy theories. The majority of the story involves Twilight and Discord struggling to deprogram them. Yes, an alicorn and a chaos god are all but powerless against the allure of disinformation.

Title: ???
Genre: Horror
Rating: M
Current chance of ever happening: 95%

I’m excited about this one which is why I’m confident I’ll do it and in the not too distant future. It centers around the CMCs enjoying a normal fun time in the crusaders clubhouse, listening to the radio, reading, playing games, eating junk food, etc. Meanwhile it starts to rain outside. The radio reports an unscheduled rainstorm. At first they’re only mildly bemused. Eventually there’s an emergency broadcast reporting to stay inside and not go out in the rain. They get few details as to why but they figure out soon enough what happens if you don’t heed the warning. (It causes violent gory body transformation on par with that of Dead Space or John Carpenter’s The Thing.) Now they’re stranded in a small leaky clubhouse in a rainstorm with seemingly no end, avoiding water, surviving off of crumbs in chip bags, hiding from whatever is out in the fog. I’d like to put a lot of emphasis on the negative space in this one since the main characters are going to be very isolated. Make the reader wonder about the bigger picture.

Title: The Ballad of Skylight Spackle
Genre: Sad, Comedy, Slice of Life
Rating: T/E?
Current chance of ever happening: 75%

I’ve had this idea for over a year and every time I think I’m going to do it, another idea cuts in front of it. Twilight creates a machine/portal that can scan an object or creature and bring the alternate version of it from an alternate dimension to theirs. In a stunt to prove to Spike that it's actually really interesting when you’re not just testing it on leaves and rocks, she uses it on herself. The chamber opens to reveal the weird alternate her with the mental development of a kindergartener. (Think Cheese from Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends.) She’s still a full grown female unicorn but with a different color and name. She’s no magical prodigy and though she seems inept at many things, they find that she’s surprisingly good with architectural design and construction. Her emergency necklace reads ‘Skylight Spackle’ with her parent’s address on it. Her alternate self proves to be an annoying embarrassment which unfortunately she can’t send back immediately due to technical difficulties. She is stuck with her for the time being but the more she learns about her, the more she wonders if she really is who they think she is. By the end she is very sad to see her go.

Title: ???
Genre: Sad, Slice of Life, Drama
Rating: T/E?
Current chance of ever happening: 25%

More of a rough idea. This is one of the stories I want to read but not write. Derpy is struggling to be a functional pony and a single parent to Dinky. She loses her job but worst of all, CPS takes Dinky away for parental negligence and places her in foster care. It’s greatly upsetting to Derpy who tries very hard to meet the criteria to get her back but unable to hold down a job, everything is spinning in the opposite direction. You know the drill; things get worse and you feel awful. Don’t know how it ends.

Title: ???
Genre: Sad, Drama, Porn?
Rating: M
Current chance of ever happening: 15%

Another rough idea that I don’t really want to write. In this one Scootaloo becomes acquainted with the Wonderbolts through her connection with Rainbow Dash. She’s a starstruck fangirl who ends up spending lots of time with Soarin. She’s excited that an older stallion is paying attention to her but really he’s actually just grooming her. Maybe he provides drugs and alcohol, takes her to parties or places she shouldn’t be. He coerces her into doing sexual stuff with him and maybe with others. Maybe she wakes up filthy on the floor after a party with little memory of what happened. I want realistic aftermath, like psychological trauma and a mental breakdown. Again, don’t know how it ends but the default setting is always ‘badly.’

Feel free to post thoughts or even ideas for my concepts.

I’ll definitely check your book out once it’s finished, and your horror story sounds pretty sick, I love ambiguous horror like that. Can’t wait to get some more cool stories from you to read.

Hey congratulations on getting your book out there! And those some enticing fanfic project being cooked up too, best of luck on getting most of those out as well.

Wait, a book? like an actual not fanfiction book? on paper and shit? Thats wicked cool. I'm totally going to be first in line to order that.

All of these ideas sound awesome too, I'm especially hoping skylight spackle gets bumped up a few percentiles.

Yes, an actual full length non fanfiction book... but not on paper. It's going to be an ebook on Amazon. I'll make it free for the first three days so there's no reason to not download it.
