Quick update: I'm done re-reading Someone Still Loves You, and I'm working on a summary chapter.
The new Celestia XVII story is still coming; I was on the road this week, and now that I'm home I'm gonna give it a once-over.
I'm still writing it. In fact, I wrote about a thousand words for the next chapter earlier.
But I got tired and felt like reading through old blog posts and came across a couple random, off the cuff idea brainstorms, and that felt like a fun exercise, so I'm going to do that right now, at this very moment. Brace yourselves. It's about to get vague up in here...
I've been binging the MCU recently, and one of my favorites so far is "What If?". It's the exact kind of AU BS that I love in my fanfic. The idea of a "What If" AU is nothing new, of course, but it occurred to me that it might be interesting to steal the structure of the show, and maybe some themes from the broader MCU, for use in a story of my own.
So every so often, my sister likes to encourage me-- "Hey, are you writing stuff? You should write stuff! You're good at it!"
For everyone who has contributed ideas so far, you guys are awesome! Here's an update on the story ideas:
-Mousetrap lives in Manehattan, a busy city where his line of work goes underpaid and under-appreciated, since there are many tech-savvy ponies in that area.
Does anyone want a prequel to my most recent Luna fic? I have an idea for one.
It would be a fictionalized retelling of how I discovered MLP, with a hint of Best Pony Luna.
If enough people want a prequel, I'll write one.
Probably not going to happen b/c reasons, but I wanted to share...

So I'm currently sitting in front of my laptop, in the weird mood of "well, it's dark out, but I probably shouldn't go to bed JUST yet." And, uh, here we are.
Does anyone remember a TV series back in 06 called Jericho? About a small Kansas town trying to survive after 23 American cities are nuked by an unknown power. It only lasted a season and a half, before being cancelled for reasons unknown. I'm wondering if anyone might be interested in a fic similar to that. I also just learned that Jericho's cliffhanger ending from the tv series was continued in comic/graphic novel format. Published by IDW no less.
Since it flew under the radar in blog #45, I'm going to post it up again. This post with be related to Kindness' sequels: Rarity and Rainbow's to be more exact.

Jonathan Swift, in Gulliver's Travels, wrote of a civilized race of horses called "Houyhnhnms" (I've always heard it pronounced "Wyn-hims"). Some, back in the early days of MLP, claimed that this made him the very first ponyfic author. This fic would take that idea and run with it.

Mr. and Mrs. Cake unexpectedly recieve a visit from Mr. Cake's brother. Initially, they're excited, until they realize that he's here on business. See, Cake-bro married one of their childhood friends, a little runt they called "Debbie." With her budding business sense and her husband's skill in baking, she developed their mom-and-pop shop into a major commercial bakery, with sales all over Equestria.
I already have the main idea down for the story but I need ideas for a plot.
Main Idea: The Story follows the life of A Boy Witch (Orion Thornwell) as he is determined to be an all powerful evil witch like every other in his family, he is then sent to Equestria to practice his magic on the pony inhabitants and eventually comes face to face with The Mane Six along with the Young Six as well.

Guess who should be (and is not) writing? THIS DUDE RIGHT HERE. Had the day off from work, which I spent doing important stuff like getting a new library card (as the lamination on the old one had worn out) and seeing Captain Marvel (which is good, but not great. Which is no fault of the movie's, but rather an indication of Marvel consistently knocking the ball out of the park with stuff like Black Panther, but I digress).
I’m focusing on finishing a new book that I’ve been writing slowly for over five years. It’s horror. I’m currently at 81k words. There are only two to three chapters left to write. I’ll self publish it digitally on Amazon. It’ll be free on its debut. I’ll tell you about it when it’s out. But what this is really about is the fanfiction ideas that have backed up in my head in the meantime. I just thought it might be fun to give a tentative outline of what happens next.

It’s Halloween again, and I’m off work for an extra day (yay!), and I didn’t do one single BIT of writing yesterday, which I felt bad for when I went to bed, so I am trying to make up for it today!

That said fuck this year. But I also have not abandoned this project, have been learning new skills, and actively working on brainstorming. If it's gonna take three fucking years for me to make proper progress on this shit I might as well add as much to the ideas as I can to make it thematically cohesive and meaningful. That said!
