Help with names for new characters! · 6:42am Jan 12th, 2023
Alright, I'm hitting a slight writer's block. I have a new young (age 8 at least) Unicorn filly who wants to be a healer (Doctor). She's very kind and wants to help as much as she can. I originally named her Ruby Rose, but then I got a better idea to make that name for a Crystal Pony in the next story of Morpheus.
I'm still working on the plot of Morpheus the Prince of Dreams' second story. So far I'm thinking he's going to try to find Bearers for the Elements of Harmony. That's right he's going to toss the timeline into a blender! Morpheus going to find five ponies who could be bearers and retrieve the Elements of Harmony early.
The reason is the Nobles are claiming Celestia stole the right to rule from Luna (Dismissing the fact they were shunning Luna before) and that Morpheus should be raised properly by the Noble family and Equestria be run by a Steward. Their goal is to make Morpheus a puppet ruler with no real power. In an attempt to undermine the nobility Celestia swears to step aside when Morpheus becomes of age (16) Morpheus is 12 so that's four years till he's legally an adult in this culture.
There is more to the Nobility manipulation as the Umbrum mare Morning Dew saw is really manipulating things. Her real goal is to undermine the nation's government by the assassination of Morpheus and framing Celestia. Hence sewing more chaos and sparking a civil war in Equestria.
Morpheus would be the Bearer of the Element of Magic. Not only is he an Alicorn, but he also has basic knowledge of a few human magical systems as well as the Equestrian magic he would be taught.
Morning Dew would end up with the Element of Loyalty. Her fierce loyalty to her first real friend, Morpheus, is the reason she got her Cutie Mark after all.
Unnamed Unicorn Filly, Prince Plantium Shine's Daughter is determined to be a healer and help ponies. Her mother died during a bout of sickness and this sparked a determination in her to learn how to help ponies. At first, I was thinking of Generosity, but now I'm thinking of Kindness I develop her in my mind.
Ruby Rose, a rare Crystal Pony filly who one of the refugees that escaped Sombra. They live now in a small village and she now going to be Generosity.
Unarmed Bat-Pony Colt. Morpheus will meet this pony when he visits the bat-pony refugees. I don't know his Element yet.
Unnamed Earth Pony. This is the one I'm not even sure if it is a filly or colt. This character would represent the Earth Ponies and the common working pony type. Again not sure what Element would fit.
As of right now Chapter 15 is about 1000 words long and growing.

I really like the name Sweet Heart. It not obvious that she wants to be a healer but still fits the theme.
So I’m making it official Sweet Heart is her name!
Earth pony. Immediate thought is Bramble, then Thicket. Bramble Thicket. Thick Set, hah. Clay is another that comes to mind, so... Fire Clay? Brick. Clay Brick?
Bat pony... Dart? Bone Dart? That's an attack from Breath of Fire 3, used by undead enemies to inflict confusion. Mellow? Hah, March Mellow. Could work for the earth pony, now that I think about it. Lip Service would be a funny name, but unfitting. Trap... Trapper? Smooth Move? I don't think I have what it takes to name characters.
A name that I use in the stories in my daydreaming a lot is Baroner, and I feel like that's a good one. Doesn't feel like it fits any character listed, but oh well.
The remaining elements are Honesty and Laughter. Honesty strikes me as an Earth Pony thing, just the down to earth nature and all that. That said, I have an idea for an Earth Pony artist named Color Palette you're free to use.
That leaves laughter for the bat-pony colt, Idk, the bats are new and he would have already had a name. Are they all former pegasi or did they come from all tribes?

The majority are from Pegasi due to their instincts during the chaos would be to fly so they were out in the open.
Some are from other tribes not as much because they were under cover or running through buildings that would have blocked the dark magic.
I’m not sure if they became bat ponies or just became nightmare versions of Unicorns and Earth Ponies.
Hmm I wonder if the Pie Family are descendants from this. It would explain the darker/muted colors and emotions. Pinkie would be one of the first not tinted by dark magic then.
