Fillie Jean complete! Go North Young Dragon is next! · 2:59am Jan 2nd, 2023
Alright, I'm finally done with Fillie Jean! Sorry I had some gaps between chapters, that was mostly because when I have to write a song, it takes me too long and I put it on the back-burner, but the last few chapters were pumped out reasonably fast.
Well that was a story I was really excited to do and I'm glad I was able to take the characters of Night Shade, Zeb, and Erebus somewhere in a G4 depiction. The whole Michael Jackson aspect of Night Shade's personality was fun to work with. I gained more respect for MJ as I did research on him and I may or may not have gotten a bit addicted to some of his music. Now what is happening with him and the other 2 is similar to the "Bright Lights" episode(s) in the old show, but Erebus' intentions are far more dark this time as he is feeding off of negativity now, though Zeb is doing a better job of keeping this operation secret (even Svengallop doesn't know about Erebus yet).
Zeb was also as fun to write for as he is easy to hate. With villains like that, you gotta make them as much of jerks as you can to a point where you want to just punch them, but you know their time will come where they will get what they deserve. How he and Svengallop talk about the kids and their customers was necessary to really make them despicable characters, but I'm sure you're all wondering what will become of Night Shade. Well believe me, it was not easy to villainize Night Shade in this (I hope it didn't seem like I was doing the same to Jackson either), but remember that he's not truly evil, he's just being mislead. It's been hinted at that he'll see the error of his ways someday. We will see all three of them again and things will be resolved, it's just going to be a really long time before I start writing that story. That might be in Season 2, and Erebus will have a major villainous role to play obviously. He's taking time to build up his powers, but he will be one of the most dangerous villains the ponies will come across.
I was very happy to get a story like this written for Flurry and Pumpkin. I want to try to let all the "Kid Six" be represented with their own episode at least 2 times in this season and Pumpkin hadn't really had her own episode quite yet since "Cheesy as Pie" focused mostly on Pinkie and Cheese. Even with Pumpkin's silly and positive personality, I definitely tested her character by putting her in a situation where she's going to be brought to tears over losing someone she really looked up to. She took it a lot harder than Flurry did, but Flurry was also put to the test. It was an important lesson to learn and I wish they had done something like this in the show.
Oh, and Rara! It was such a shame she didn't get another episode in the show. I was wondering what had become of her, so I thought it would be fitting to have her be a former friend of Night Shade's. How I fit her in the story really helped to make sense of things and lead up to the ending with Night Shade turning his back on the girls. More importantly is what we have learned about Melody Heartsong. I showed a pic of Melody on my DA a few years ago and now I finally get to use her. Believe me, she will be really important in a later episode, but that's all I'll say for now.
Well now that Fillie Jean is done, next up is Go North Young Dragon. This one will be huge. Maybe not quite as action packed as Tirek vs Scorpan, but the action isn't what you should be mostly concerned about. This story will hit you hard in just the first chapter alone. I will say no more, just be ready. Just kidding, none of you are ready. I don't even think I'm ready. XD

I would say this was a pretty good story even though it really upsets me but very good and I can't wait for the next story about Spike and also happy New Year
