Some background music. You're going to need it: we're going to be here a while.

    Status Update, April 2024 Edition

Part of my slowness in writing M.L.G.'s latest chapter is for the usual reasons: tiredness, minor depression, having other things on the mind, that sort of thing. However, in what can only be described as "whimsy", I've recently decided to complete a list of all of the intentional shout-outs and references in the story as of the most recent chapter.

    Something To Think About

I have a message to share with prospective authors. If you go into writing a story---be it as a living, or just for fun---don't automatically assume that what you're doing is wholly original.

    Tired, Running On Empty

That pretty much summarizes my mental state of the past few days. Constantly tired (half due to not getting enough sleep and half due to my walking regimen), and I can't really think of things I want to write for the story. You know you're having trouble finding things to talk about when your brain fishes for tuna, but ends up with guppies instead.

    So INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATED Right Now

I copied the latest chapter of M.L.G. to my flash drive as usual. I took it home with the intent to post it today. I double-click the file.

So... To Keep Or Not To Keep? · 4:06am Dec 28th, 2022

Earlier today, I was writing a scene for M.L.G.'s latest chapter revolving around the battle with Agent #4, Statuette. I had Levi sitting outside the ice rink watching Statuette go through her practice routine, and she started getting the urge to skate around with her before actually fighting her. When Maverick and Magnum protested and said that having fun with a criminal defied common sense, Leviathan's response was, and I quote:

"You can't let yourself be held back by common sense in Equestria."

To those of you familiar with Touhou: does that line sound familiar? :rainbowlaugh: In all seriousness, though, I'm just wondering if I should keep that scene in the chapter and continue on from there.

Like it!

I've never seen Touhou, but if you want to keep the line in, then by all means. Heck, it would be nice to see an ice-shaking battle between them.

Go gor ot! Who'd stop you anyway, Reimu?

... on second thought, maybe don't.

Hmm, to be honest it is Levi's MO to take things her own way. Even joining her on the rink can be a test of skill between them, plus it's Levi's way of doing things.

Keeping it simple: in one of the games, a character who had then-recently been introduced to the series challenged the PC to a duel, stating that "she had learned how to do the greetings" and stating "You can't let yourself be held back by common sense" in the series' setting. That last one's since become a bit of a meme.

And to everyone who replied: I've decided. I'm keeping it. Thanks for your input!
