Chapter 13 Nearing Completion · 12:37am Dec 6th, 2022
I promise that I don't intend for these to take me a minimum of 6 months at the outset.
I've been fighting post-Covid brain fog and general exhaustion for a week, and was sick with it the week before that, so I have not a lot of progress to show for the latter half of November; I'd intended to push the publish button by or before my birthday (Wheeee, more turns around the Sun. No, I'm not saying exactly when it was beyond late November, but if anyone wants to wish me a happy birthday, leave me some good feedback for something that doesn't involve egregious retconning. I don't get a lot of feedback... probably because I post so rarely, oh well).
I have one major scene left to do for Chapter 13, and a couple minor scenes surrounding it. It has wound up a bit longer than I originally intended, and likely will hit the 20K mark before it's done, as it sits just under 16K words now.
That said, this chapter is very dialogue-heavy, and it's dialogue-heavy because it's the final lead-up to what is probably the biggest plot point in the entire story thus far, and involves the first and only direct interaction with a character from Fallout: Equestria that this story will have. I'm sure you can guess based on the cliffhanger of the previous chapter who that character is. (Minor semi-spoilers: There is no more bait-and-switch with zapping Crystal away from the titular vacation destination extraordinaire. She's fulfilled her Inconvenient Summons quota for her childhood. No more teleporter accidents for her! Soon, she will be back in her new home, plot threads will culminate, and hints of her future will appear... though I can't promise I'll be able to write that future anytime soon. I do have a novel to write... I've neglected it for too long.)
