An unecessarily detailed deconstructive analysis of the horny

Let's consider some Derpibooru humanized (non-anthro) images as archetypal of the Pony fandom's take on an observation I've made:

1. derpibooru dot org / 653978 (Rainbow Dash, sunbathing naked on a lounger.)
2. derpibooru dot org / 2536802 (Princess Luna, sitting spread-legged on a bed wearing only stockings and a garter belt.)
3. derpibooru dot org / 2311203 (Sci-Twi, masturbating messily.)

These are examples of art I consider excellent. I wish I could use them as cover art (or post them directly here!) but they're too spicy for Google Adsense and the mods would banhammer me.   

Now, this leads me to my observation, whose lede I have deliberately buried until after you had the chance to punch up the three artworks above: None of those are pics are tagged (at the moment I post this blog) "bare vulva" or "shaved pubic hair" or whatnot. Indeed, poking through Derpi's tags, those sorts of tags barely exist. It seems, in fact, that when a character does have pubic hair, it rates a tag, rather than vice-versa. 

Now: this is not a complaint. As far as visual art goes, I think it makes sense to show the vulva and labia without obstruction; even the ancient Greeks and Romans knew this, as did the Renaissance masters. Since, say, the 1990s the pendulum seems to have swung back in the direction of the bare snatch, whether in Playboy or on porno websites or on Derpibooru. (A look into a 1970s girlie magazine is a surprise to the modern eye!)

I suppose my real thesis for this somewhat rambling blog is that it's interesting and perhaps surprising that the presence of pubic hair — no matter how little, even a minuscule patch with the rest of the pubis and labia totally smooth (example: 1087289 older Diamond Tiara and Sweetie Belle dripping creampies all over a bed) — rates a tag.

Not sure why the default is "bare" and the presence of pubic hair requires a tag (de facto, if not de jure), but here we are.

Regardless, I continue to be impressed by the skill of the artists in the pony community here. Anyone have any other derpi numbers of similar excellence to drop in the comments?

A brief analysis of my faves shows that indeed pubic hair are rare. I've heard this is also to make the character look younger. Some fine examples:

It's usually because it's a fad nowadays (unlike in the 70's), female pubes are considered icky. Same goes with the big breasts, it's a common preference in porn. Usually male characters have huge penises for the same reason, yet it's usually tagged since "heteronormative audience" prefers watching naked, shaved women and not naked dudes.

But all in all, porn is supposed to be a depiction of fantasy, that doesn't have to reflect real life. If people cannot tell unreal apart from the reality, porn is definitely not to blame but those individuals.
