I have been quite busy lately -- that, or perhaps a bit lazy.

There are unread chapters to stories I've been meaning to read.

Work has kept me from getting home at a reasonable hour.

My muse seems to have left me, making it a bit more difficult to write my stories.

And as we reach the end of yet another school year, it gives me pause to reflect upon that which has passed.

There are three times during the year that have a tendency to make me feel depressed.

First is the actual end of the year, December 31. A time for introspection and regret over goals not reached or achieved.

Second is my birthday -- a day which tells me I don't have that many left.

Third is the last day of finals, marking the end of a school year.

A pet peeve of mine, rather trivial I might say, is the use of the word "alright."

This is NOT a word.

It is a corruption of the two word phrase, "all right."

It should never be confused with "already" or "all ready."

I had English teachers who would routinely circle the word "alright" and correct it for me.

Those of you who use it should remember that "alright" is not a word, but a colloquialism.

I have noticed a tendency of some users who seem to take delight in downvoting stories simply based on a writer's reputation or their perception of that writer. Regardless of the quality of the writing, there are apparently some who don't really care how well written a story is, they just place a down-vote willy-nilly on every story in that writer's pantheon.

Is a video game featuring the ponies, allowing you to play as any of the Mane Six, and possibly as some of the side characters as well. I would like to see the characters be able to gain experience levels, increasing their powers and skills -- an RPG of sorts -- or possibly a Grand Theft Auto type game, which could prove to be much more amusing. So I was working on my Trixie story last night ... and had written about an extra 1200 words or so to add to the most recent chapter.

I got sidetracked ...

And forgot to save what I had added before exiting out.
