Alright is not All Right · 1:17am Apr 30th, 2013
A pet peeve of mine, rather trivial I might say, is the use of the word "alright."
This is NOT a word.
It is a corruption of the two word phrase, "all right."
It should never be confused with "already" or "all ready."
I had English teachers who would routinely circle the word "alright" and correct it for me.
Those of you who use it should remember that "alright" is not a word, but a colloquialism.
My rant on this ends here.
Thank you.

Rant about grammar is best rant
You, good sir, are wrong about it not being an official word. Proof? Oh, it's right there.
