I have noticed a tendency of some users who seem to take delight in downvoting stories simply based on a writer's reputation or their perception of that writer. Regardless of the quality of the writing, there are apparently some who don't really care how well written a story is, they just place a down-vote willy-nilly on every story in that writer's pantheon.
I find such a practice most detestable, specifically because those who do this contribute nothing positive to improve the writer's efficiency or capacity as a story-writer.
I understand there is nothing I can do about this, though it leaves me feeling quite angry at those who do it just because they can. My only request is this -- for any who decide to down-vote any of my stories (or all of them if you are so inclined) please leave me a comment as to why you made such a choice -- and please DON'T leave emoticons as your only response, as those don't help me at all.
Thanks for your patience -- my vent is over now.
