I know that this is a blog that will probably draw fire, as it touches on controversial subjects (or at least one). Some will no doubt scoff at the things which I'm about to say. Never the less, I begin.
All too many people, even those who consider themselves Christians, often think that the Bible has flaws in it, or that somehow parts of it don't add up. Skeptics (perhaps the most polite term) scoff and mock at supposed errors they find, or that other people think they found. All too many websites have lists of these supposed errors.
(Modernized version of the Unforgiving Servant parable. Disclaimer; I had no part in making this video, I only intended to use it here for the purposes of this blog.)
Forgiveness. It was something Jesus chose to focus on, as whether or not one forgives others shows whether one contains love or hate in their hearts.
There have been a lot of court cases over the past couple of decades, as well as run-ins and incidents in schools, that concern the fact that, everywhere, religion is being made to "be quiet" in public. People are charged with discrimination in court just because they, being private business owners, refuse to make cakes or other baked goods for... festivities that they cannot conscientiously approve of, even though they referred the customer(s) to another store that would sell to them
Psalm 14:1 and Psalm 53:1 both begin the same way; "The fool says in his heart, 'there is no God'." Some mistakenly take this to mean that it is only stupid people who doubt the existence of God. The Hebrew word, however, that was originally used refers to impious people. Many atheists and agnostics are very intelligent; they know about their particular fields of science and utilize that knowledge.
God is spirit (John 4:24), and ultimately, we cannot know what He looks like. The most common misconception regarding the appearance of God is that He looks like an old man wearing a robe. During appearances in Ezekiel and Revelations, Ezekiel and John repeatedly had to use phrases such as "what appeared to be" or, "He looked like," et cetera, simply because no human words could describe Him.
