"Those who deny being lost in the dark will never bother to look for the light. It is the nature of being a villain." - Aeon Legion: Labyrinth, by J.P. Beaubien
Lurking for a goodly while, now.
"Those who deny being lost in the dark will never bother to look for the light. It is the nature of being a villain." - Aeon Legion: Labyrinth, by J.P. Beaubien
Written for James Fire, in response to Comma Comma.
Ahem.
As I walk through the valley where I harvest my grain
I take a look at punctuation and realize that it's a pain
Cause I've been pausin and clausin so long
That even my sister knows that my mind has gone.
I ain’t never parsed a sentence that didn't deserve it.
"No!" Sunset stomped her foot. The universe shook. "I am not so self-centered that I believe my personal issues outweigh the slow collapse of the universe! You are going to take a rutting number, and you are going to wait your moon-banished turn! I will deal with you when I'm finished saving the world. Again. Do I make myself clear!?"
It has come to my attention that this is a day of some significance. Thus,
Happy Pie Day!
That is all.
“It’s okay to hurt, you know,” Pinkie said after a moment of silence, “that’s how you tell the good from the bad.”
There is a saying, that fiction suffers from having to be believable, while truth enjoys no such limitation. An example:
My niece got a job working the front desk of a motel. After the first hour of her first shift, the manager told her that he felt poorly, and was going to lay down. And so he went and locked himself in his room.
"Dude, I could sit here all night and spout a bunch of generalities about self-esteem and forgiveness, but I used to be just like you and I know it wouldn't make a difference. There's no magical combination of words that's gonna erase your guilt. You have to earn respect from yourself just like anyone else, and a lot of the time, it's way fuckin' harder. There's your alicorn wisdom. Now go talk to your God-damned friends."
From last month's issue of Squirrel Girl: "THOUGH THIS FIGHT IS CLEARLY FUTILE, I FIND IN ITS FUTILITY A WELCOMING EMBRACE, COMFORTING IN THE SAME MANNER AS A FAVOURITE SWEATER, OR A CALMING GAZE INTO THE ABYSS, WHICH, I REMIND YOU, GAZES ALSO."
Truly, a warm, motivational thought to get one through the day.
God. Vulture bees.
There are three species of bees, Trigona crassipes,
Trigona necrophaga, and Trigona hypogea, that are collectively known as "vulture bees". Instead of collecting pollen, they go to dead (but not rotting) meat, vomit disolvant on it (as though they were a fly), suck it back up, take it home and
make
honey
from
it.
They make meat honey. If you'll excuse me, I need to go use the washroom.
I have reviewed my libraries. Ongoing Favourites: 53 stories. Stories that were favourites, but haven't updated in the last year, were cancelled, went on hiatus, etc.: 74. Completed Favourites: 286! (Clearly I need to winnow through this particular category.)
