Tonight's random thought · 9:18am May 3rd, 2014

So, as so often happens, I was thinking about nothing in particular . . .

On rusty horseshoes · 9:48pm Apr 28th, 2014

At the end of "Sleepless in Ponyville," Dash gives the olden pony a rusty horseshoe in Scoots' dream to make her leave Scoots alone. And now we know that Dash had a lucky rusty horseshoe until she traded it away. Therefore Scoots thinks Dash values her safety at least as much as Dash values her lucky rusty horseshoe.

More thoughts on "Inspiration Manifestation" · 8:49pm Apr 27th, 2014

Because I forgot some, and had some more since yesterday.

Never read aloud from old books. It always ends poorly. You'll curse yourself or swap your friends' cutie marks or something like that.

The Everfree Forest has sure gotten safer since the Tree of Harmony was restored to full power.

Thoughts on "Inspiration Manifestation" · 6:23pm Apr 26th, 2014

Is anybody else wondering whether the book is indestructible? Because if so, I think Spike's going to regret swallowing it.
But maybe the magic will just form a new book instead.

I was kind of hoping Spike would have to break his promise. But maybe that's just me.

Oh, and another thing · 11:39pm Apr 19th, 2014

Which is totally unrelated to my previous blog post. Also it has spoilers for today's episode. Don't read this if you haven't watched "Trade Ya" yet.

Apparently indentured servitude is legal in Equestria.

Actually, it's kind of unclear whether Equestria has a code of laws at all. It could be all tradition and royal decree.

On bestiality and ethics thereof · 10:36pm Apr 19th, 2014

For the purposes of this blog post, I shall define "bestiality" as "sex between a sapient being and a non-sapient being," rather than the more conventional "sex between a human and an animal." In my opinion, my definition is a better generalization of the concept to a world containing sapient non-humans, and since I'm going to be referring to my concept repeatedly, it will be good to have a single word that means what I want to say.

Just watched the original 1984 MLP TV special · 7:49am Apr 19th, 2014

It is the 30th anniversary and all. And I pretty much watch anything Calpain tells me to watch. It's sad but true.

It's pretty fun, actually. And Faust was definitely right to prefer Firefly, though Ember looks like she's got potential as well.

So, you know, go check it out.

Something bugging me · 4:02am Apr 17th, 2014

Do you read the official comics? Have you gotten the latest Friends Forever, featuring Shining Armor and Twilight Sparkle? If you answered "yes" to both of those questions, you might have noticed the same thing I did.

50 questions about headcanons · 4:11am Apr 15th, 2014

So I saw on my feed today yesterday a blog post from The Descendant. He mentioned a blog post about 50 headcanon questions. And then proceeded to give his answers, of course, since why else would you bring it up? I started to read it, but then I realized I should hold off on that until I had set my own opinions down, free from new influence. So here's what I think:

A puzzle · 9:51pm Apr 9th, 2014

In Ponyville, the barber trims the fetlocks of everypony and only those ponies who do not trim their own fetlocks. This is not a paradox. Why?

Being the first to give the explanation I'm thinking of is worth one point. A novel logically sound explanation is worth two points. Repeating an explanation that has already been given is of course worth zero points.

Points are worth nothing beyond possible bragging rights.
