A question about friendship · 12:33am Jun 4th, 2014

So this thought popped into my head, and it's about friendship, which makes it relevant enough to post here, in my opinion.

How implausible does a hypothetical scenario have to be before a true friend is allowed to betray you? And I don't mean doing something counter to what you want because what you want is bad for you, or anything like that. I mean freely choosing to do something that they know is harmful to you, against your wishes, and generally with only ill intentions towards you.

A silly thought on pony dating traditions · 3:02am Jun 3rd, 2014

Seeing as Equestrian culture is based in many ways on human, and in particular American, culture, even to the point of absurdity at times, it stands to reason that stallions traditionally give gifts of chocolate and flowers to mares in whom they are romantically interested. And of course, the normal human response is to eat the chocolate and display the flowers as a decoration (until they die). But horses eat flowers, and we've seen pastel ponies do the same. And chocolate is poisonous to

An idea · 2:21am May 13th, 2014

Guys. Guys. I just had the best idea.

And by "best," I mean "stupidest."

Remember "Three's a Crowd"? Do you remember how, at the end, Discord gave Twilight a friendship medallion thing? She had, after all, gone to the ends of Equestria for him, and thus proven she was truly his friend . . . or at least that's the excuse he gave for his extended prank.

Twilight's test · 11:03pm May 11th, 2014

Yeah, I'm not done yet. I'd say it's because a two-parter gives me twice as much to think about, but actually it's probably because I'm trying to avoid doing that homework even as I'm secretly panicking about how it's due tomorrow at 2 and I have been progressing far too slowly on it. (And then I stopped mid-sentence later and got back to work, so apparently I wasn't trying to avoid it that much.)

And another thing · 6:08pm May 10th, 2014

I didn't spoiler the last one, but I'll spoiler this one. This one is somewhat less vague about things that aren't obvious.

I think we all need to take a moment to reflect on the fact that today, we saw a fight between two beings possessing between them the magic of essentially the entire population of Equestria. Just take a break to think about that.

I am disappointed in Celestia · 3:29pm May 10th, 2014

A millennium ago, Princess Celestia had to banish her sister to the moon. And for a thousand years, she regretted that it had come to that. How much better it would have been had she reacted to Luna's jealousy when it first started to appear, before it carved a rift between the two of them, before there was nothing to do but let it fester and hope that Luna could guide herself off of her dark path. If only preventative action had been taken in time, the sisters would never have been separated

Five days · 4:24am May 6th, 2014

Four and a half, really.

I can't help but feel that I should be wishing for the season not to end. I know full well that I'll be out of patience with the summer hiatus after about a month, for one thing. If I have to wait until November for season 5, I'll be melodramatically moaning about how I'll never survive the break by the middle of August by the latest. The off-season is a fearful thing.

On rusty horseshoes · 9:48pm Apr 28th, 2014

At the end of "Sleepless in Ponyville," Dash gives the olden pony a rusty horseshoe in Scoots' dream to make her leave Scoots alone. And now we know that Dash had a lucky rusty horseshoe until she traded it away. Therefore Scoots thinks Dash values her safety at least as much as Dash values her lucky rusty horseshoe.
