Just a note, gentle readers: The characters you see tagged will all show up when the first chapter proper shows up, so don't worry if you're wondering where everypony is when you read the prologue.

This idea came to me as I was watching Hearth's Warming Eve some time ago. Two things in particular struck me. One, that history may have been much more complicated than the play presents. And two, that characters may have been flanderized by history as many people in real life have in historical texts and works of fiction. I didn't mark it as one since there's no hugely radical change, but feel free to consider this an AU history for all intents and purposes if you wish, since I know I'm not good at tonally keeping with the show. I promise I won't go all grimdark on you, though!

This is my take on what "really" happened during the time period that the stage play of Hearth's Warming Eve covered. I hope you enjoy these misc. snippets and accounts of the long winter as told by our favorite not-Twilight.

Octavia plays a private performance for our favorite (former) queen of capslock.

Just something I came up with in less than an hour. I don't know any details about fanon portrayals of Octavia (and I'm not big on adhering to fanon anyway), and this is just my own take on the character. It's very short, and just a (hopefully) cute slice of life thing. I wasn't even going to upload it but a good friend said it was worth putting up, so here you go. I had thought about adding more to it, but I'm not really planning to at the moment. Hopefully someone here will find it enjoyable.
