This story is a sequel to The Adventures of Flare Brimstone

This takes place immediately after chapter 11 of The Adventures of Flare Brimstone and serves as the official, direct sequel.

Far beyond the verge of stars and further still, a portal seldom forms agape. A large rock, a meteor, hurls to the world of Equestria, amidst a star shower. The blistering rock crashes on the plains and caught the attention of Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, who investigates the fallen meteor.

What they uncover will shock them, and when they understand what it is and why will astonish the celestial sisters.

This story is a sequel to Farewell, Chrysalis

After wandering for a few years after meeting Chrysalis, the globetrotting stallion takes a detour to Silver Shoals for a quick reprieve from his travels. At the end of his brief respite and before he sets out to explore the domains outside of Equestria, the globetrotting stallion is met with ponies he's known ever since his youth.

King Sombra has conquered half of Equestria and he is looking to make Canterlot his next target, controlling his formidable slave army to lay siege to the capital, however, he is met with a staggering force of Princess Celestia and Luna's army, who had come to the Crystal Empire to seemingly put an end to the tyrant's cruel ambition.

The purpose of taking the fight to Sombra himself was to buy time for the celestial sisters; a reason none of the soldiers truly understood, but they trusted in their rulers. The army fought valiantly, but it was for naught, as they were wiped out by King Sombra's forces.

Among the dead bodies of his comrades and friends, a single soldier stands as the final opposition to King Sombra's ruinous march to the heart of Equestria's capital, Canterlot.

He needed to buy time until his princesses arrived, and he was more than able and willing to do so by any means he could, even at the cost of his life.

Axis Stone is faced with a horrible situation after his best friend passed away: the part where he has to move on accepting what happened to her; the healing. But it doesn't go so well.

It was quiet around his home now. He'd always have Lana wake him for breakfast and go for a quick jog around Ponyville after, but those days were over. How they'd lay next to one another reading a book or playing games, but Axis had stopped reading and the games he and Lana played had begun to gather dust.

Axis Stone knew his friends, the Mane Six, would always be there for him, but none of them were how close he was with Lana. Well, except for one. Maybe even more so.

In an effort to be rid of the constant grief plaguing his ailing heart, Axis gathered what little energy he had left and decides to take a trot around Ponyville, like he and Lana used to do.

Unfortunately, it was going to rain by the time he'd leave, but Axis Stone welcomed it; the rain was fitting.

Before you read: this is a continuation of Chapter 7's The Adventures of Flare Brimstone, and you do not have to read that chapter. Chapter 7 is mainly there to see how Flare Brimstone meets Snowy and how she gets to where she is now, but it isn't necessarily required for you to read it, because you'll understand who she is unless you just want the satisfaction of knowing the full context.

A pony by the name of Snowy is a filly born with the unique affinity of ice magic. After being rescued by Flare Brimstone from a rogue researcher, the young filly was brought to the Crystal Empire to be cared for by Sunburst with the aid of Princess Cadance and her husband Shining Armor, along with Snowy's brand-new bodyguard, Flash Sentry.

While living in the empire, something from its past lingers from the despot who once ruled it, of something deep and dark, and the afflicted who were most assuredly consigned to death.

Willow Bounty is a mare who finds herself in a precarious situation, one that is of her or another's making. She must summon the courage to survive and save herself from death.

However, something is trying to force Willow to submit to their will; a foul parasite from the depths of her very mind.

If Willow Bounty is to save herself, she must claim victory over the struggle from within once and for all, or die trying.

It was the end of the day and Fluttershy, now finished with all of her chores and daily outing with her pony friends, decides to head into the safer sections of the Everfree Forest for a walk before returning to her cottage for the night.

While taking in the lush serenity of the forest, Fluttershy spots an animal out in a small clearing. Being the animal expert that she is, Fluttershy realized something was tranquil about the scene and decided to join the creature.

There once was a stallion who dreams of running away far from what he knows, from his very home. When he's awake, there is nothing but pain, the encroaching fear of loneliness, and less-than-helpful suggestions from within his psyche. When he's awake, he has to face the world around him, another nightmare.

The stallion is overwhelmed by this truth that he tries to dream it away by running...galloping to places unknown; anything to get away from this painful truth. But no matter how far his hooves take him, he is always back at the start.

He needs help, but not from professionals. He needs somepony to be there for him; an anchor; a friend. What he needs is a beacon of light to shine away the gnawing darkness. Even when guided, he will have to do most of the work.

This is his last chance to fight against the fearsome tide that threatens to sweep him away, and the one inside his psyche trying to drag him under the surging waves.

What will be witnessed is the beginning. The rest is an uncertain future.

(This is a continuation of Chapter 10's of the Adventures of Flare Brimstone, and it isn't needed to read the chapter in order to understand.)

Whilst patrolling around Canterlot Castle, Agni, a bat pony and special guard of five that protects Princess Celestia's life from the shadows, has been harried by his new friend Flare Brimstone to show the mare a unique type of magic that only he, Celestia and a select few individuals can use called Incantation.

Deciding to oblige in the fervent requests, or just stop Flare from asking for some peace, Agni leads the mare to a tower where the stallion trains in the ancient magic.

It was that time again for Princess Celestia. A guard has gone, swept away in the breeze never to come back. A loyal guard, a good guard, whom Celestia will never be able to grace the visage of; the sun had set on him forever. She enters his room and begins to recollect brief flashes of him.
