And now we reach the fourth of our five living Phoenix-born, and General Sentry's second: Commander Spitfire.
Hopefully doing some art for phoenix-born will help me get back into the grove. Till next time.
Listen to the crashing of the waves, the flow of a stream, the roar of a waterfall, or the patter of the rain.

Terrible news everyone, my dissertation is in, and I have officially graduated. Now I have to find a job.
So, between sending in job applications and looking for post-docs, I'm going to start getting back into Phoenix-born Rising, and hopefully finish up the Trials arc. Since I've been away from my baby, it's going to take a bit to get back into the grove. But, hopefully it won't take too long.
Thank you everyone for your patience.
The Voice in the Water, PhD
Heya! I'm not dead! I needed a break from my disseration, so I decided to come up with a bit about the Smooze from Splintered Sky.
Splintered Sky isn't dead. I swear. I'm going to get back to it once I have the time to focus on something other than getting this PhD done.
Anyhow, here's Nitor's version of the unstoppable purple blob monster.
The Smooze
Origin:
Hey all.
So, good news. Over the winter break, I managed to carve out a little time for myself to re-work my outline for the final part of book two of Phoenix-born rising. It still needs work, because I'm not happy with some of the recent parts, but it feels good to have a chance to write "not job application / thesis" stuff for a bit. So, things are underway.
Here she is. Queen Celestia's hand and voice. Leader of the phoenix-born. May I present to you, Lady Raven Inkwell and Dylis.
So, when Red at Overly Sarcastic Productions posted a new video on "The Smart Guy" trope from the "five man band" trope, it got me thinking about Phoenix-born Rising (Which isn't dead! I'm outlining things! PhDs are hard! Don't judge me!), and how the five phoenix-born kinda fall into the trope. Not perfectly, but there are parallels.
Making good on my threat to do more Phoenix-born art, we get my rendition of dear Archduchess Roseluck, Amara, as well as her amps Thorn and Phlume's Kiss.
Hey everyone.
Between working on the next chapter and my thesis, I needed a bit of a brain break, so I decided to put pecil to paper and come up with Splintered Sky's version of D'compose.
Inspiration has been fleeting due to the stress of my dissertation. So, while I try to get my creative mojo going again, allow me to distract you all with pretty pictures of tiny plants taken with the super-macro setting on my camera (my actual camera. I don't have a smart phone, nor do I want one).
First up - Liverworts!
