I just updated chapter 1 of Hearth's Warmin' Eve. Tons of fixes, a couple additions, a few things got the axe, and I added a character I forgot about. I'll be adding the second chapter later; I didn't want the edits to sit around any longer while I waited on myself to finish the second chapter. Enjoy!

One of the hardest ponies to write dialogue for is Applejack, but mostly because people don't know how to write Applejack properly. Because her accent is so different from almost the entire cast of the show, people interpret that as her personality, which, in turn, leads to poorly written dialogue as people try to use, and express, her accent.

Yes, 'tis true. I am working very hard on a clopfic, though! I started out wanting to do a couple of the sexty minute prompts I missed with a time limit of two hours; I quickly outgrew that silly idea. Instead, I'm putting a lot of effort into actually taking time to write good clop. Trying to make it unique, descriptive, and something worth reading is certainly challenging, but I'm sure the result will be worth it.

Oh, also: It's a threesome. Twilight, Dash, and AJ. Should be fun!

And now I have a serious question for you. If you like oranges (the actual fruit, not just the juice), how would you describe eating one? What's the flavor like? Texture? Favorite thing about one?

Yeah, it's not coming tonight. I'm going to try to get it done by tomorrow. I just downed an entire pot of coffee while making dinner (yes, I am aware this is not healthy— if I'm going to splurge on one thing, let it be coffee), so it's time to get caught up! August 3rd, and I've written only a little under 2,000 words. This is a lot harder than I thought it would be.
I now have 6,000 words to write over the rest of today and tomorrow if I want to stay on track. I think part of the problem is that I planned out the scenes I wanted to write, but I didn't go into enough detail with them. As such, I'm getting caught up trying to figure out what exactly is happening and falling into a rut each time.
