Let R = { x | x ∉ x }, then R ∈ R ⟺ R ∉ R... or is it?

RTAC #10: Best Princess · 11:02pm Apr 23rd, 2016

I’m not sure why exactly, but the words “best princess” are much more often applied to Luna than Celestia, so I’ll go with that. This is not a statement of preference for either princess, but another long-winded research post, and Luna is just the subject of said research.

And the question I am aiming to answer today is:

Why, exactly, was Luna, apparently, forgotten entirely, and Nightmare Moon was an “old ponies’ tale?”

There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics. I’m about to engage in the third one.

That is, I remembered about the Great FimFiction Dump and decided to finally do something interesting with it.

This is not so much an idea as it is a conversation piece.

The idea of Celestia meeting herself is not unknown in canon – the entire Reflections storyline in the comics is kind of about Celestia meeting a mirror universe (in the Star Trek sense) version of herself.

Points of Canon: S6x05 - Gauntlet of Fire · 7:12pm Apr 16th, 2016

Moar pone! This episode is written by two ladies who wrote both Rarity Investigates – a very nice episode of relatively low world-building impact, and The Hooffields & McColts, a rather mediocre episode which likewise, didn’t tell us a whole lot about the world.

But now they’re talking about Spike and dragons, and most importantly dragon culture.

Well, it josses a bloody lot.

Since even Bad Horse says I’ve out-nerded him, I might as well explain how I did it in great, excruciating detail. Because I’ve finally published the results as fit for human/pony consumption.

Points of Canon: S6x04 - On Your Marks · 5:49pm Apr 9th, 2016

Continuing my points-of-canon series once again. This particular dose of pony is brought to us by Dave Polsky, the gentleman responsible for “Over a Barrel,” i.e. the source of some of the most egregious canon problems.

I was expecting something outrageously difficult, but surprisingly, I had to really fish for any world building elements in this one at all.

RTAC #9: The Star Will Aid in… · 11:22am Apr 8th, 2016

In an earlier post in this series, I have studied the canon regarding the features of Equestrian celestial mechanics, and concluded that Equestria has to be a ridiculously small, spherical planet in a geocentric system with an artificial, manually controlled sun and moon.

Now riddle me this: Why do ponies think of other planets at all?

Let’s do some more canon welding.
