I've had a crazy schedule in mind for a while; three months out of the year, I work on one project, three more months another, three more another, and the remaining three I just not bother with any writing whatsoever.

But the last couple days, I've been itching to write pony stuff. So in addition to what I planned on doing today in terms of writing - a Transformers story - I jotted down a little more for "New Horizon" and got a small start on "Six Nights (and a Day) with Sunset".

Folks, I'm going to level with you; I've written a lot of crap over the years. The one advantage of not having enough time to get things done means that while I'm churning ideas around in my brain, I can discern the good stuff (or at least the decent stuff, in my case) from the bad stuff. There's lots of ideas for pony stories that I'm going to do, and two that won't happen. One's because of Rainbow Rocks presenting me with more interesting options, but the other...well, it would've sucked.

There are plot devices and storytelling ideas in fiction that I don't like - never have and never will - and will consequently not use myself under any circumstance. One idea is brainwashing, mind control, enslaving a character and effectively turning them into something else. It's worse than killing them - the body's still there, everything physical is still there, but everything that made them them is either gone or buried so deep that it's next to impossible to dig it out.

On the one hand, I got a very constructive comment from Reality Check, which is awesome - his stuff is one of the reasons I have an account here, and I've enjoyed reading his works ever since I took a look at "Parting Words".
