Let me be clear: I don't think the pony princess we've come to know and love is a bad character: she's funny, adorable, and she does have her own story arc that is compelling. On October 12, 2019, My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic came to an end after roughly nine years on the air. It was a show that broke all expectations on what a "girls' toy" show could be, with its intricate plot, well-developed characters, and Fluttershy wanting to be a tree. Equestria Girls also came to an (unofficial end) around that time, with Holidays Unwrapped serving as the last bit of original EG content to be released, and it may remain that way indefinitely.
