Wonder what's gonna happen to shimmy, anyway, still curious to starlight character in this story and hope Luna commits a heated gaming moment on the griffins, because out of the nations thus far the griffons are at least for me, the absolute worst.

Okay, Twilight isn't braindead whatever Daybreaker did is clearly some kind of mind control. Sunset very clearly said she wanted to leave and have nothing to do with this.

To reject the wholeness of the flame, to any degree, would be to endanger the Empire. To leave it would be to abandon it. Sunrise already tore away from her former friends, but as she struggles with the implications of that decision, she must seek more to justify it. There is no mind control, because that would defeat the purpose of this story's theme. People are capable, in the real world, of committing unspeakable atrocities from numerous convictions. What this story attempts to present is not only how those convictions come to be, but what would happen if they were to persevere. Sequel in the works, because there is more for the story to say on this matter from a different lens.
