Yeah, I have two problems with this chapter:
1: Aria & Adagio are getting off WAY too easy after everything they've pulled. Even if they've been "mentally purified" or whatever you call it, I'm pretty sure that everyone they've harmed and tormented isn't going to be so lenient. Even with Sunset on their side. Especially Twilight given that they brutally murdered her brother.
2: Sunset is making a really stupid decision lying to her friends about who killed Rarity and RD. she already pretty much screwed everyone over by trusting Sombra. The moment anyone finds out that she's withholding info on this? I'm surprised anyone would want to trust her again.

Their attempt at redemption will be an ongoing thing in the coming chapters; you're definitely right that no one else would be so lenient (Other than Sonata who is of course biased towards them), which is why Sunset is keeping secrets and hiding them. Not saying she's making the right decision; I'm leaving that up for the individual reader. She wants to believe everyone can be potentially redeemed if they're willing to try, but if it was say Applejack there she'd likely stomp them into the ground despite their change of heart. You're correct that Twilight wouldn't forgive them either.
I do have an eventual comeuppance in mind for Adagio/Aria, but I'm not sure whether it will satisfy. Without spoiling my plans, basically there will be some way they'll attempt to set things right down the line to the best of their ability with a personal sacrifice. And of course they'll be turning the geode powers they've stolen to help fight the other forces of darkness around the city in place of Rainbow/Rarity. Aria certainly doesn't believe she deserves redemption, whereas Adagio is wavering on what to do now that she realizes the gravity of her sins and almost mentally crumbled during her purification.
It's covered a bit more in the next chapter I'm working on, but Aria and Adagio are considering turning themselves over to the highest authority (Likely Celestia/Luna in Equestria) to decide their fates once they've dealt with this mess.

I kind of get that, but it still feels a little rushed at certain points. And then there's Sunset herself, cuz it in the fact that she's the reason most of this is happening right now, I'm pretty sure a lot of her friends are going to be questioning how much she can claim she trusts them if she's willing to keep information like this away from them.

Yeah, pacing has always been something I've struggled with. I'll try to flesh it out more in the upcoming chapters. Personally, I don't blame Sunset for this as much as some readers seem to; most of her friends DID go along with her plan, so I say other than those who were firmly against it (Flash, Applejack, and to a lesser extent Tree Hugger) I feel they also take a portion of the blame.
Moondancer, Trixie, and Sonata had less of a say in anything since they all consider themselves outsiders to the group, Inky and Pacific were of course going to side with Sombra, and Spike's just a wild beast, but the rest of Sunset's close friends? They decided it was okay to gamble on too since they couldn't think up a better alternative.
Sunset is of course on her own journey of redemption to fix this mess; all I'll say is she may end up paying quite a price by the end of this...

Yeah yeah and flat out LYING to them helps...i hope that backfires on her big time at the end.
Oh and one more thing!
WTF with the Dazzlings?!! Seriously! it beyond made me furious.
Add the last bit I mentioned lying holding back secrets like what she did.
Yes every has some blame for the crap that happened, but now it all on Sunset's head with what she said and held back. What comes afterwards is all on her head, and Spike will learn of what happened.

Hopefully I'll be able to follow it up soon, if my laptop won't stop going nuts... don't have money for repairs. Sunset will have to deal with lying eventually. Got most of the chapter written up, but will need some fine tuning. Some major stuff will finally pay off soon as I'm building towards the climax with the coming chapters.
