I certainly shall look forward to part 3. This one was hilarious.
Most excellent.

I still can't understand why this fantastic gem of a fic doesn't have a wider readerbase. I really need to write a blog about it some time and maybe get you more attention. It's fast becoming my favourite longer-running fic on the site, and I DON'T EVEN LIKE ANTHRO! I mean I would never touch it with a long stick. Yet here? It's perfect, because you're utilizing it so well. It's not just ponies with hands, that's for sure.
I'm a long-time spanko. I remember reading an article on the net on "what to do if you're interesting in spankings and you're only 15" and even that I think I read a few years I even hit that. I'm also involved in some BDSM activities in RL, but most of all, I really enjoy both writing and reading good quality spankfics. Doesn't hurt that they are most of the time quite emotional and well written, unlike most of the mature stuff on the site. I'm just beside myself at enjoying this long-runner, because it gives so much time for character development. I also enjoy the characterisations around, almost the same as in the show, but just that little bit different that you can't always be sure what will happen, yet you can still always know what kind of characters you are basically reading about. I mean... Spike being Celestia's adoped son? It works here. AJ being trans? A surprise, but not unwelcome by any means. I also enjoyed the immaturity of the whole student cast. Twilight is the bookworm prodigy she is in the show, but she's also not beyond losing control and going all out against Trixie. And then there's Spike
In the show, Spike has been one of the greatest heroes in the show. He saved the Crystal Empire. He gave Thorax a chance and by doing so, saved Equestria from Chrysalis. He has a huge heart and smarts beyond his years. I'm happy you've taken that side of him into the story. He's thoughtful, yet still an insecure teenager, who is always willing to help a friend. That's what real heroes do, isn't it? If anything, he's started to take a bit too much of Gary Stu / Karma Houdini properties. Everything seems to go his way quite easily, and he doesn't seem to have defining weaknessess that wouldn't be common to everyone else. Sure, he's shown insecurity, but that goes for everyone. I'd love to see him act out of stress, worry, or something else and get a deserved punishment for it. The locker room was close, but even that was on wrong grounds and mostly because of a teacher's personal bias. And even after that, he got to pay back his teacher twofold with a paddle. It would be great if he actually got into real trouble, like a real teenager, and for example got a good emotional whupping from, say, Celestia. Remember, we're not flawless, we're works in progress. People like characters that have good properties, but they believe characters that have actual weaknessess that have repercussions.
I still have a few chapters left to read, having just finished Lyra & Bonbon's chapter. I hope you'll continue this fic for a long time in the future, because I'm utterly in love with it. Can't wait what kind of hilarious coincidence leads to the next spanking scene.

I was a bit worried when I saw the size of your comment. I normally only get hateful nonsensical comments this long, not actually pleasant comments with a delightful bit of constructive criticism.
Thank you for your kind words! Me and Goomy have actually practiced writing characters with one another, trying to capture the source character, while making them just different enough that it suits whatever setting we insert them into. This took a long time, but, I think we've gotten pretty good at it if it's working for you! And of course it's very important to take your time with things to develop characters over time rather than rush them.
That said, you make a very good point about the way we've written Spike so far. I agree that we haven't devoted enough time to showing Spike's flaws, having HIM punished for them in a proper and believable manner, and had him grow as a result. I'm thankful you brought this to our attention, because I believe I can utilize this in coming chapters that have yet to be written. So I will certainly keep your advice in mind!
Thanks again for the amazing comment of praise and constructive criticism! We appreciate it greatly and hope you'll continue to be a fan for the foreseeable future of the story!

Yeah, tell me about it. Some people just can't understand that if a kink or story isn't for them, they can just move on. They just HAVE to come and spout their moral nonsense about fiction. I've always thought that as long as you aren't harming anyone, then do whatever you want... especially about writing. Tell everyone what you want to with your own words, because if you can't, what's the point? There's that downvote button if someone is butthurt.
On the other hand, I have had some great conversations about various topics pertaining to my stories that have started as moral disapproval,. After hearing the other side's opinions, it has helped me write things better. For example some scenes might have felt objectively abusive or cruel to some, even if I didn't write them that way, so hearing about it has helped me to for example improve descriptions and dialogue to set the mood better. Like you've written yourselves, sometimes giving the other side a little time to explain what they think might help avoid HUUUGE misunderstandings or a paddled butt.
I admire your commitment to your story and not being willing to change things after you're done with them. Just remember that there's always room for improvement on how you present a subject. Example would be AJ being trans, because I can totally see it, but there was almost no buildup or hints about it before you hit us with the closet whammy. I believe that a lot of folks reacted more out of surprise than actual disapproval, because this being a fanfic and all, there are certain expectations about characters. AJ being trans is quite a huge thing to suddenly drop, and would make for an interesting story in and of itself, but now it was handled at such a rapid pace that it might have even gathered up some shock value. Once again, for you, subjectively that was probably not what you were going for. The chapter was about Sunset, of course, and about how she went to the point of bringing it up in the first place, but it almost feels like a wasted opportunity for a great story. Just food for thought.

I understand that. Initially I didn't feel like there was a need to "draw attention" to the fact that she was trans, for me it was just a factor about their character in this universe, but it's clearly a point of interest. I had intended on building up to it in future chapters for other characters, but having addressed it in that sideswipe already, that probably ruins it for the readers themselves. So, you're right, in retrospect we could have devoted a bit more time to this beforehand. I'd like to perhaps give it more backstory in a future chapter to better explain it, because it wasn't something I did on a whim. It's hard to map out my feelings on the matter and explain them clearly.
This series has gone rather quiet. Is there any news regarding the next chapter?

Apologies for that. After taking a bit of a vacation IRL, I keep forgetting to finish editing the current draft for the next chapter so I can finish and upload it. That's my bad.
Actually, there's a lot more to it than that. I'll try to wrap things up soon and then I'll be making a journal discussing it.
