This is a interesting aspect for sure. So with this change in detail you have made Celestia and Luna MUCH younger than they were in the canon. Which means that best chance when Spike came and took over Discord was still ruling most of the land. But that does bring up the question. How in the hell could Spike do ANYTHING to stop Discord. He is more or less a law of Nature in their world. The dragon's resistance to magic doesn't work on him. And he can't be killed so Spike should have had no way of stopping him. That also mean Spike best chance took over also when the three clans were at war with each other. But it is also SUPER sad to think that for thousands of years all of pony kind have been these really fucked up slaves to the dragons. I mean a whole species forced to serve another like this, and for so long many are just use to it. The amount that want to rebel and get their own freedom might be smaller than even I originally thought but I am sure they are out there. I worry tho that Spike's desire to rule might spread outside of not just ponies but all species. He is such a nice Hitler Dragon isn't he...... a bit to far.... but still not that far.

I can only give an estimated guess on this, We are not sure if Discord was there or not, but if he was, then Spike would most likely have made a deal with the Princesses (maybe Discord, but it is not likely). He would help them and in return, they would be under his rule but given that many of the territories in Equestria were split among the Dragons (Dragon Lord took most or biggest), other Dragons who probably develop some type of superiority complex began to abuse them ponies or even worse. Spike may have realized what was happening so he probably set up this system in order to protect the ponies and made sure if there was an alicorn he would have made sure to keep her in his territory as is the safest so she couldn't be used for something really dangerous. That would probably be a few reasons as to why Spike is trying to bring all the other territories under one banner. Also, if he is able to bring all in one banner, he could raise the ponies status.

I get that and that is a pretty good guess and I think fit with this story. I am just pretty itchy I guess when it comes to enslaving people or sentient things. I can't help but think how people would tell my great grandmother that her being a slave was for her own good, and that her learning to write or any skills beyond working the fields would only harm her. So I just can't help but think when I hear that the ponies serving the dragons is 'for their own good' to jump to that. When Spike has shown already that he doesn't respect Ponies fully by him giving them such sexual commands that they can't fight. But I will just separate that and say, it is their culture that the dragons have .... instilled in the ponies over their time as their.... noble lords. I am not trying to come off as a ass or anything REALLY, I really like the idea and really interested in seeing where this goes I just can't help but want to shout to the ponies to stand up, but at the same time I can put it in my mind that this is in a way a 'different' culture.

I guess this is a bit of matter of perspective. I don't like slavery, but I don't mind it if its use as a form of punishment when a crime is committed (as long as it is not crazy abusive). I believe he respects them, but he is afraid or has to play a charade (or maybe he really loves ponies), for example, what if he is close to finishing with what he is working for but all the sudden ponies across his territories rise in rebellion, it would create panic everywhere it might be worse in the territories he was trying to bring in, those territories would probably punish the ponies or kill them. They would also instigate the rebellion, creating chaos within Spike's territory making it much more easy to take over or a third party can just bid its time waiting for both Dragons and Ponies to weaken each other so they themselves take over. For now, I can assume that Spike really cares about the ponies in his territory and maybe have romantic feelings towards the main 6, but as I have said, I can only assume.
It is not about it being a different culture but something that can change given enough time.

In context, I’m trying to build Spike up as a dragon that both loves respects ponies, he has everything he does because of what ponies, and some of the other creatures, have been able to develop and create. Dragons tend to think in very short terms, despite their incredibly long lifespans and very limited vulnerabilities, but ponies, griffins minotaurs, diamond dogs, and various other creatures mostly have much shorter lifespans and a wider variety of vulnerabilities but actively have tendencies and histories of thinking in the long term and trying to make things more comfortable or convenient for those in the future, even if there is a very high possibility they will not get a chance to see some semblance of the future and/or ideals
they are working towards.

In regards to Discord, I haven’t decided if he even came to this collection of territories that was once Equestria in the timeline of this universe, chances are just as likely he bypassed the whole thing out of some reason that could never be addressed. But you have to remember, Spike has only been Dragonlord for 300 years, before he won that title Torch had been Dragonlord for who knows how many hundreds or thousands or years. A dragon that old and powerful might be just powerful enough to find Discord’s magic more of a minor annoyance than anything pressing or overly distracting. And when the characters refer to dragon “cities” in terms of before Spike’s reign, it’s more akin really simple communities that had very low chances of any genuinely built structures, or anything resembling recognizable as genuine architecture. I think you’re adding digits where they don’t belong.
But yes, alicorns are exceedingly rare and after they were a recognized entity by dragons ruling what was once Equestria a mandate regarding alicorns only being permitted to be held by the Dragonlord was handed down almost immediately. So yes, all standing alicorns are in a special place within Spike’s domain. You’ll get to see them in a future chapter
I keep finding alot of typos
