After seeing herself as Daybreaker in Starlight Glimmer's dream, Celestia confides in Discord her fear that her alter ego might take control of her. Discord urges her to let Daybreaker out to play, but even he might find Daybreaker too hot to handle.
It feels a bit weird that they are already together when this story starts out? I did not expect that, not as my default assumption, nor from the summary. The dialogue describing how their relationship developed doesn't feel quite natural, either, I'm afraid. There's too much of them mentioning things they both know purely for the sake of the reader. You can get away with doing that a little bit, but this much of it doesn't fit right.
I don't usually look at romance or clop starring Discord. He strikes me as the kind of being who wouldn't necessarily have a sex drive, who indeed might not understand what the fuss is about. But I thought the premise of this story was really interesting, so I decided to check it out.
(BTW, Celestia calls herself 'princess', and as such should be addressed as 'your highness', not 'your majesty'. Just sayin')
Interesting that Discord didn't actually have to push too hard to get Celestia to transform into her alter ego. Though I guess if it took too much prodding, their relationship might not survive...
10 bits says Discord made a calculated risk and intentionally pushed Celestia over the edge, banking that it wouldn't be him or any of the others he mentioned as having done more in defeating vilains that brings her back but Celestia herself from within Daybreaker. (Disclosure: I haven't read Chapter 2 yet.)
He better hope his numbers added up right, or he might be missing a few digits after all this.
“Me, your sister, Purple Smart and her ragtag team of mares, Princess Lovey-Dovey and Prince Shiny-Butt — maybe even their baby, since she almost froze over the Crystal Empire. Heck, even Starlight could help out, since her magic’s growing to match Twilight’s from what I hear.”
8466444 Discord's one of my favorite characters in the series, mostly for how his elitism makes him refer to everyone around him as lesser beings that he's gracing with his presence. I think "Purple Smart" was a nickname that derived from Ponychan, but the others were names I made up myself.
“Oh, right, like the pony who couldn’t even take down Queen Chrysalis would become that much of a threat just because she let her inner demons take control of her. You think you’re going to get some kind of dramatic boost in power just because you’re angry, like some kind of comic book character? No, you’re just gonna have the same amount of power that can’t hold a candle against all of us, even if you’re pitching an angry fit like your sister did eons ago.”
Hot damn Discord. You brought the heat with that one.
Also, this just drips with those moments you try to toss some light insults at your spouse for some angry sex. Then it winds up working too well. I shoulda read this sooner XD
8512863 Better late than never. And yeah, I have a lot of fun writing dialogue for Discord. One of my favorite characters, never gets old to me. Gotta love that sass and condescending nature
Discord, you better bring it or she'll bring you to an end

Well, considering the 2nd chapter is told from Discord's POV, there's a 99% chance you'll find out if you were right or wrong.
I do think Celestia allowed herself to slip.
