Chapter 1: This is only the beginning

The cold morning air whipped back Derpy’s mane and tail as she flew as swiftly as she could towards Ponyville. for she had urgent news for twilight and her friends from princess Celestia, something top secret and not even any hint on why it must be delivered was said except that it was to be delivered ASAP. Derpy couldn’t help but wonder what was in the envelope addressed to twilight.

6 months earlier

Lyric, a blood red Pegasus with an orange spiked mane, a dark purple star with music notes circling it for a cutiemark and her two signature bracelets on her front left leg. Sketch a silver unicorn with a gold mane and a pencil and paintbrush as an X for a cutiemark. And finally Apollo a purple pony with a short curly blond mane and an omega for his cutiemark. Were escorted into the royal throne room by a group of guards.

“Lyric, Sketch, and Apollo, I heard that you three ponies were looking for adventure?” princess Celestia implied, continuing on with

“well I am thinking of expanding my kingdom over the mountain range, and in need of some strong, brave ponies to go on an expedition over the mountains to explore the terrain and see if there are other ponies out there. all necessary items for your expedition, and needs for survival will be on me. so what do you say? Are you in?” the three ponies some more quick to respond than others nodded their heads in agreement

“we accept, your majesty.” Lyric said excitedly

Present day

“whoa, Sketch Apollo come quick” shouted lyric, one day while exploring the deep jungle, causing sketch and Apollo to come galloping over

“ what’s the matter Lyric are you hurt… whoa, what did you find?” sketch asked in astonishment.

“whoa, I cant believe it..” Apollo gasped

“come on, don’t just stand there lets go explore in side!” lyric said impatiently. Apollo nodded in agreement.

“w-wait how do we know what’s inside” sketch hesitantly questioned

“well we’ll never find out just standing here” Lyric said entering the ruins of what looked like tomb. Apollo and Sketch looked at each other and shrugged and trotted after Lyric. When they entered the ruins they saw Lyric trying to hack away a tangle of vines

“here let me help” Sketch said levitating the machete and surprising lyric causing her to fall back into a puddle.

“oops sorry” Sketch giggled as they walked the was machete cutting the overgrowth as they went Until they heard a loud “CHINK!” of metal rung through out the entire area. Lyric pushed back the vines a discovered some sort of mechanism It was a large purple sphere with a sharp rusted spike sticking out of it, with 4 gold looking legs holding it up, and on the side of the gold base was an old rusty looking button surrounded by a dark purple rim. Lyric reached out to push the button

“Lyric stop we don’t know what It does it could be dangerous.” Sketch warned

“but we’re adventurers we are spouse to take chances it’s part of the job” Lyric complained Apollo sighed and replied "yes, it is part of our job, but sketch is right, besides its getting dark we should set up camp.” Lyric tried to protest but they had already started out

“hey wait for me!” Lyric called trotting after them. as soon as Lyric stepped out a mysterious alicorn mare and discords face appeared in the purple crystal both laughing manically the mare saying

“those fools, walking right into my trap.’

Their camp was small some tents, a fire, what was left of their food supply, and the things in their saddlebags. Lyric was busy flying laps around the camp site, while Sketch was cooking dinner, and Apollo gathered fire wood to keep the fire going. As they were eating their meal, that Sketch had prepared, everypony was talking excitedly about how their find would go down in history, and it was their lucky break. After dinner they set of to bed for tomorrow was another long day of adventuring.

Lyric tossed and turned for most of the night she couldn’t sleep without knowing what that button did,So Lyric snuck out of camp being careful not to wake the others and flew of toward the ruins. Upon entering the ruins Lyric was wondering what could possibly happen by pushing the shiny button. Maybe riches, or possibly fame, or it could just be a muffin for Lyric hadn't had a good old muffin in a while and muffins were her favorite just like Derpy.

Before she realized it she had come upon the purple crystal ball with the button. Lyric reached out just about to press the button when Sketch, who thought she might catch Lyric trying to see what the button would do, ran in pulling her back, awaking Lyric from the trance like state fixated on the button

“Sketch what are you doing, let me go!” Lyric yelled fighting to get free from Sketch’s grasp accidentally hitting the button with her back foot in the process. the shiny orb now releasing a purple and red mist. The mist was twisting this way and that around the room purple clumping to one side of the chamber, and red on the other. Two evil laughs loomed in the air, the room echoing with their sound.

As the laughs started, the two fighting friends stopped dead in their tracks, for the had not noticed the mist forming in the chamber.

“look what you did now Lyric!” Sketch hollered angrily

“me! You’re the one who started it Sketch! if you would have let me go I wouldn't have accidentally kicked the button!” Lyric screamed right back

“hey what’s going on here I heard you two at the campsite and… holy Celestia” Apollo replied as Discord, Chrysalis , and a mysterious alicorn appeared from the mist.

The three ponies were standing there dumbfounded, and curious as to who this new mysterious alicorn was.
“wh… who are you?…and why are you here?” stammered Lyric finally after a short awkward silence. The alicorn stared at her and replied
“why little pegasus, my savior, you released me from my prison, so I will tell you who I am Psychotic-twist, little known sister to princess Celestia and Luna, I was banished here and secluded here in these ruins for 2 thousand years of my 6 thousand year banishment, because you, little pony, released me from my prison, now to resume where I took off to take over Equestria!!” Psychotic-twist finished with an evil laugh. during her evil laugh Lyric took action flying off to inform the princess of her mistake.
“thank you foolish ponies Psychotic-twist and I decided to team up and take over for no pony will know who she is she will just be a dark blue alicorn with a royal purple mane” Discord sneered maniacally
"nopony with ever suspect a thing"
“you will never get away with it Discord, the elements of harmony have beaten you before, and they can beat you again!” Apollo shouted, as Sketch leaned over and whispered into his ear “where is Lyric?”
