Chapter 1 - The Solution

Silverbeam, a silver and blue unicorn stallion, and Chessknight, a white and yellow pegasus stallion, walked through the deserted, ruined area, once known as Canterlot, the once grand capital city of Equestria, now scattered remains.

"Silverbeam, do you sense something?" Chessknight asked Silverbeam.

"Dark Guards, I can sense them up ahead!" Silverbeam exclaimed as a Dark Guard, which is a human sized, deep-black liquid robot with dark, yellow eyes, with one arm a blade and the other a multi-blaster.

"Run!" Cheesknight screamed as the Dark Guard stabbed him through his body.

"Crap!!!" Silverbeam swore as he ducked under a broken-down carriage, hoping that the Dark Guard wouldn't notice him, to which, it didn't. When the Dark Guard flew off to wherever it came from, Silverbeam stayed under the broken-down carriage until he heard a small, futuristic plane land near the carriage.

"Silverbeam! Where are you?" Skylight Dancer, a purple and white unicorn mare yelled as she looked around for Silverbeam. Unknostest between Skylight co-workers, she had a huge crush on Silverbeam. Only Silverbeam knew about it, though.

"Skylight!" Silverbeam smiled as he rolled from underneath the broken-down carriage.

"Are you alright?" Skylight asked Silverbeam worriedly.

"I'm doing alright" Silverbeam sighed, "But we've lost Chessmaster"

"Damn it!" Skylight kicked the ground, "That's the third one we've lost this week!"

"I'm sorry, there was nothing I could do" Silverbeam apologized.

"It's not your fault...It's just that we've lost too many to those things!" Skylight sighed, "Now, we should get out of here"

A few minutes later, Silverbeam and Skylight had reached the resistance base, to which its members were waiting for them. The members include Fire Forged, a orange and grey unicorn stallion, Topaz Light, a purple and orange unicorn mare, Mach Five, a white and red pegasus mare, and Edge, a blue and green teenage dragon.

"Welcome back!" Fire Forged greeted Silverbeam and Skylight.

"Where's Chessmaster?!" Topaz demanded to know.

"He's...gone..." Silverbeam sighed sadly.

"NO! NO! NO!" Topaz cried loudly as she ran off in despair, "I loved him! I loved him!"

"Topaz! Wait!" Mach exclaimed as she ran after Topaz.

"We're losing too many ponies!" Edge declared, "I just want to take Arabus and-"

"We'll all die if we launch a full assault!" Skylight interrupted Edge.

"I have a better idea!" Fire announced.

"And what would that be?" Silverbeam asked.

"We could send someone back in time to stop Arabus from rising to power!" Fire explained.

"That is probably the worst idea you've ever made" Skylight rolled her eyes.

"But I have the way to do it!" Fire smiled as he pulled out a strange, chrome watch.

"That's the time machine?" Silverbeam looked at the device with skepticism.

"Yes! And it works, too!" Fire smiled as he pressed a button on it.

The watch disappeared, a few seconds later, it reappeared in a burst of light, amazing the trio.

"Well...I guess it does work!" Silverbeam declared.

"But we, need a volunteer to go back in time to stop Arabus" Edge noted.

"I'll go!" Silverbeam said

"Fine, you'll be leaving tomorrow, okay?" Fire informed Silverbeam.

A few minutes later in a room which resembled a fallout type room, Silverbeam was packing the necessary things to make this mission a success, such as some dry goods, a bottle of water, and a pair of blue-laser blades. As he finished, Skylight was waiting for him. Silverbeam knew what this meant.

"Silver, I want you to know that I...well..." Skylight Blushed, holding back tears, as Silverbeam leaned in and kissed her, as the two began to make out.

"I love you too, Skylight" Silverbeam thought to himself as the two lovers moved towards his bed...

The next day, Silverbeam slipped on the chrome watch, put on some lightweight armor, and looked back at the resistance.

"I'm sorry I have to go, but this is how it is" Silverbeam bid his comrades farewell.

"Good luck!" Skylight rooted for Silverbeam, as he pressed the button on the watch, which made him disappear in a burst of light!

A few hours later, Silverbeam awoke in the middle of a small creek. He yawned, stretched for a minute, picked up his supplies, and began a long trek through the woods.

"So this is what a forest was like" Silverbeam wondered to himself as he walked along a dirt path. "My mom always told me stories of what the world was like before Arabus, but I didn't know it was this beautiful"

Suddenly, the sound of laughter could be heard from nearby. Silverbeam ducked behind a tree and looked upon six different ponies eating and being merry.

"And then I was like, no way!" Rarity laughed.

"Ah still darn don't get that story!" Applejack moaned.

"Hey, do you guys want to-?" Twilight Sparkle noticed as a Hydra slithered out of the forest!

"RUN!" Fluttershy screamed as Silverbeam jumped on the Hydra, and stabbed into it multiple times the center! The Hydra roared and blasted a poison-blast at Silverbeam, but Silverbeam threw down a force-field grenade, protecting him!

"Now begone!" Silverbeam roared as he landed the finishing blow on the Hydra, slaying it! Twilight Sparkle walked from behind the bushes and approached Silverbeam.

"Thank you for saving us" Twilight Sparkle said hesitantly worried if this pony might produce her the same faith as the Hydra "But who are you?"

"That, my friend, is a long story but first we should get out of this forest, who know what else is here?" Silverbeam sighed.
