The Switch

Luna
“Tia! I’m going to bed!”

“Okay, good-day!”

I walked up to my tower, tired from all the monster hunting. I sighed, remembering the Ursa Minor. It almost got into Ponyville. Again! I reached the top, and closed the door. I walked to my mirror that was situated by my dresser. I looked in my mirror, only to see Discord.
“AHHHH!!!” I screeched. He laughed, coming out of the mirror. He stood on the dresser, as small as my mane brush.
“Discord!” I said, still shocked. “Why thy are interrupting our bedtime?”

He snapped his claws, turning back into his size, standing next to me. “Oh, Luna, we all know you can speak like a normal pony!”

I walked away from the mirror, opening the doors to the balcony. I stepped out, my mane flowing in the wind.
Discord followed me, holding a small plush of me as a filly. He waved it in my face, saying, “I’ll give it to you if you speak like a normal pony.”
I rolled my eyes. Ever since he came to Canterlot for, what he called, a “monthly vacation,” Discord has been pranking Celestia and me. I don’t think he will prank me again, though, for I got him back for the water in my shower turning into chocolate milk. In the Royal Canterlot Voice, I said, “THY WILL NOT DO THIS AGAIN, OR WE WILL PUNISH THY PRANKSTER!!!” I will not give him this for Tia’s pranks, though, for those are funny.

“C’mon, Luna, I’m waiting!”

“Please leave, for I am tired.” I said.

He started jumping up and down, saying, “Yay!” He gave me my filly plush, and snapped his claws, disappearing. Finally.
I walked backed into my room, using my magic to carry the plush. I put my mane into a ponytail, and lay down in my bed, holding the tiny plush of myself.

I woke up, ready to raise the moon. I walked to my balcony, and focused my magic. The moon rose steadily and slowly, as if it was rising on its own. I also scattered the stars all around the night sky, making it look beautiful. I sighed. This was some of my best work.
I walked back inside, using my magic to pull out the ponytail.

“Huh?” I gasped. Looking at my reflection, I saw a bigger, taller, and prettier Luna. I was the same color, but my mane looked more like the night sky than it did before. I dropped my ponytail, exasperated. I looked like my sister, only with my colors.
I screamed so loud, Tia came rushing into my room. Only she looked smaller, and weaker, her striped hair now replaced with the pink mane she originally had, before she sent me to the moon. We gasped in unison, shocked by each other’s appearances.
“You look like me-“
“And I look like you-“I said.

We stood by each other’s side, shocked. Celestia looked like her from 1000 years ago, and I looked like her from the current time. What had happened?

“Tia, did you do this?” I asked.

“What? No! Why would I do this?”

“I saw that alternate book on your nightstand.”

As I was walking to my tower the previous day, I passed her room, the door being open. I peeked in, and saw a weird, lavender colored book on her nightstand. I used my magic to pick it up, and saw it read “Alternate” on the cover. I flipped through the pages, and read it can flip your lives!

“No, Luna, I saw it at Twilight’s new castle library, so I decided to sneak it. I thought it looked interesting!”
I gave her a look. “You sure?"

“YES!” she exclaimed.

“Okay!” I said, holding my hooves up. “So what are we going to do?”

She thought for a moment. “Let’s look at that book.”

We walked out of my room, bound for her tower. While walking down the spiral stairs, I couldn't stop looking at her. She looked like my Tia. The one I saw before she used the Elements of Harmony to banish me. I missed that Tia. Maybe the switch wasn't so bad after all! Besides, in this form, I'm the older sister. I'm the one that rules Equestria!

We walked up to her room, items everywhere. Pillows were all over the place, her fan fiction dolls of Twilight and her friends scattered, and the shelf that held her personal books had toppled over, leaving the books in a heaping mess. This was a strange sight to see, since she was usually clean.

I decided to make a joke. "What hit here, a tornado?"

She gave me a look that said, Don't even.

Ignoring my snicker, she walked in, stepping over all the pillows.

I also walked in, but stepped on Applejack.

"Owwww!" I screamed. Looking down, I saw a Rainbow Dash next to Applejack. I rolled my eyes, knowing she's been trying to get them together for a while.
Also ignoring that scene, she picked up the book, and walked over to me, stepping over the items perfectly. She started looking at the book, and gasped at a certain page.

"What?" I asked.

She used her magic to hover the book over to me, and I gasped, too. The title said that you cannot reverse the spell unless you go through your life in this perspective. Below it was a time spell.

"What?" I asked, confused.

"It means that we must go through each other's life in this form. So, I guess you discover Twilight and make her a princess." Obviously she sounded annoyed.

A disgusted look appeared on her face. "And you send me to the sun."

I couldn't stop myself from laughing. It was to funny! She looked up at me, annoyed. I knew this was a serious situation, but it was funny.

After stopping, Celestia continued. "We must have to go back in time, and relive those dreaded 1000 years."

I thought for a moment. Were we really going to do this? Relive 1000 years! I'd be alone for a lot of them! But I also knew Tia didn't want to be stuck in this form. The look on her face said it. So, I agreed.

"Yes." I said.

She nodded her head, studying the spell. She grabbed my hoof and we disappeared into the nebula.
